So how much do people think it's wise to increase weight by per week for the big lifts?

You mean for exercises? Kind of depends. As low as possible. But if you feel like you can go higher the next week, do. I often add 5 kgs per week to my deads. But most other lifts, 2.5.

Yeah, for exercises. I've been increasing by 2.5kgs per week thus far.

Edit - Didn't want to go today. Went. Smashed it. #Dominated 8)

Good man!

SAME HERE.

Increased my dead by 5 kgs and probably coulda gotten a few more reps out of it. I also finally broke 200 lbs with it (went from 198 to 207). I'm aiming to break 300 in 10 weeks. DOABLE. Not probable. But DOABLE. Even if I don't quite make it, I know aiming high will get me results.

Did 5x3 pull-ups, next week aiming for 5x4.

Annnd I increased my curls with 2 kgs per dumbell! Increased with 4 kgs total. After I went to failure last time with my previous weight, so that's dope. Was expecting I had to do 5x3 this time.

Steezed out.

I'm still only moving up 2.5kgs per week on deads - that first lift from the floor is still so hard with the shooting pain down my leg. I could definitely do a heavier weight but the pain is too much.

Do them off of boxes or the supports of the power/squat rack. Just to give you that little boost. They're too important for core/lowback development not to do them as heavy as you can.

What's the pain from again?

I also noticed my back rounding in my second set. Was afraid I was lifting too heavy for a minute, but naw, didn't activate my hamstrings enough on the way down. Fuck, it's soo easy to forget these details sometimes. I really need to make it a habit to visualize the whole exercise before each set.

A slipped disc :lol;

I'm not too far off the heaviest working weight I could do, maybe 5kgs. I'd rather just keep moving up week by week and have that 2.5kg room for manoeuvre. I do do the RDL starting from a rack though.

Edited because of bullshit/bad advice/new evidence has come to light/ etc.

That's IT? Bite through it you puss. There's no reason why you wouldn't be doing your 1RM each week.

HAHAHA APPARANTLY. My past ones have been smaller. But this one is bright red from my ankle to right below my knee. That's why I'm proud of it. It's my first PROPER stretchmark since my bulk started.

Nah, can't feel shit. It's like a layer of skin that is torn, leaving a scar. For life basically.

I've had some on my shoulders and upper chest and around my hip joint from when I first started lifting when I was 17/18. No more than 2 inches long, though. Since then they chilled a bit.

This is the first one in years and it must be around 7 inches long?

Looking forward to many more.

Special shout to the lads tonight who were alternating squatting 20kg on the Smith machine with lifting up their shirts to 'wipe their brows'.
