This is why I think sex laws are bullshit. How can it be statutory rape is the girl wanted to fuck?!
I understand trying to protect really young kids, but from 14-15 it should be fair game imo.

I mentioned that in Romania the consent age is 15... for girls. But if I want to have sex with a dude, he has to be 18. That's fucking retarded.

I think there's countries that have an age of consent of 13 if you're gonna have sex with anyone up to the age of 16, and that makes sense somewhat.

Honestly can't see why you would want to have sex with a 14 year old if you're older than 16 anyway, when I see secondary school kids now, they look like tiny children. At 14-15, you're still impressionable enough to be taken advantage of seriously, I think. Seriously the age where you really think you know best, but really don't.

14 is still a child

from people who are old enough to know better than to take advantage of them.

You can take advantage of plenty of adults too.

And at 14 you hit puberty => are capable of having sex. I don't see any reason why a couple of 14 year olds shouldn't be allowed to fuck.

I'm with you on that. I just don't think someone over the age of say, 16 should be able to. There's such a gulf in mental and physical state.

Though technically illegal no one gives a shit if two 14 year olds have sex, or at least not in sense one is taking advantage of the other just because of age. Even a 16 year old fucking a 15 year old in this country, no one will be pressing charges purely on age grounds.

For me at the age of 23 everyone under 16 looks about 12 to me anyway, toddlers almost, even 18yr olds seem a wee bit young for me now purely in terms of mental development, for the most part they haven't actually realised they're adults yet so still act like children (speaking from experience at least, a few of my mates started hanging round with/hitting on 18 yr old girls, said girls acted like bloody children), that extra 5 years on earth made a massive difference!

This also applies to 14-15 yr olds, just because you've hit puberty and are physically capable of reproducing doesn't mean you are mentally ready for it yet, this is why the age of consent is as it is. Lord knows I wasn't ready for a heavily involved sexual relationship when I was fifteen, I thought I was at the time but in hindsight I really wasn't, Highly doubt many other 15 year olds are either
