It's a bit corny the whole PASSING THE TORCH OF THE WEST COAST thing and people being desperate for the next nas, the next illmatic, whatever. But I don't think that shit hampers his music too much. Even tho GKMC had pharrell, just blaze and dr dre all with their fingers in the pie, it still sounded like something personal IMO
I don't think he's buying his own hype so to speak. I guess you're worried that he is and that he's going to lock into that persona and put out corny positive "I'm kendrick lamar and you gotta love yourself" music from now.
We'll see.

awesome post
hmm I think he has but not by buying his hype he's just misunderstood what appealing to me specifically could deal him in magical kharma
No... I mean he's definitely content with getting that already defined crown and that shows he doesn't fully understand his own potential
I realize how arrogant it must sound stating that I know what he should do, but there we go
the crux is that rappers need to win over people in every thing they do
its not just music or a vibe that you enjoy imo imo imo
in the same way that a standup isn't exclusively about being funny

I don't get the standup point but I see what you mean
and people shouldn't go around crowning and co signing and jerking off so much in general

good stand up is preaching coated in so many jokes that you forget you just learned something
rap is supposed to seem so authentic that you forget you're just listening to music
imo

Reynols "first album was a "dematerialised CD" - i.e. an empty CD box"
Mike IX of Eyehategod released a noise tape which was covered in glass and you had to smash and it'd would probably literally fuck you up

Of all the Kiss tracks to like how can you choose I Was Made For Loving You?
They had loads of good 70s stuff in all honesty (I know this isn't a popular opinion with most people here I reckon) but that track is fucking awful

Thing is though I basically listen to Kiss almost solely when I'm fucking hammered and then it's like "urgh this shit is fuckng lame" if that track comes on.

If you don't think every song is a banger (and say so), then you're not fucking hammered man

A sign of me being too drunk when listening to Kiss is when I start enjoying Crazy Nights

I really enjoyed the Paul Stanley solo LP.
idk all of Dynasty was shit imho. Love Gun would've been a solid choice, I guess.

The first Alive is the best.Classic selection off the early records. It's got more energetic performances and a better sound overall than the studio albums did too on top of it being some of their best songs. The versions of She and Black Diamond on Alive are sick. Like if you look at it the first two had kind of limp production and Hotter Than Hell is muddy as fuck but Alive just takes the good songs and goes way harder with them. I'd say Hotter Than Hell is my favorite studio one though.
Also on the subject of solo records the Ace Frehley one is actually really good (bar a couple tracks like New York Groove). The Paul Stanley one has some tracks I like (I actually do like the attempt at power pop that is Wouldn't You Like To Know Me a hell of a lot) but it also gets boring at times. Simmons' one is a wanky show off mess and Criss' one while pretty honest and made clearly for the love of it is fucking apalling.

i get that with 70s bands, where the live version just kinda ruins the studio one for me, have it a lot with zeppelin, can't go back to the album versions of the ocean, bring it on home and over the hills and far away
tho unpopular opinion perhaps, i think jimmy page's live soloing is gash
