You can't stop people being racist/nationalistic idiots without raising them up out of poverty, but you can easily stop them taking their attitudes with them around the world in "support" of the national football team. Croatia would pretty quickly start restricting travel for known racists if they knew that their team was being hampered by them.
We managed it pretty effectively with our fans in the 80s and 90s... excluding South Africa from International Sport even had a surprisingly large effect on them getting rid of apartheid!
yea apartheid was stopped but SA is still one of the most incredibly racist places on earth still. You can't just change the attitudes of a large swathe of people by banning a football team.

Should of played on in that rain. They did in Switzerland this time 4 years ago with the Turks and Czechs and that was an epic game! Personally would of relished playing in those conditions and I play in net!

Think the odds on that happening will be very very low. Donetsk have a brand new stadium which will be built with lot of lightening receivers to prevent that happening

Yeah! Especially after that first game. What a tournament.
I'm still pissed about Holland's non-event. However, it wasnt
unpredictable considering they have a relatively shit defence.
The balance in the team is crap and the selfishness of Robben

For me Ronaldo showed his true self tonight. He was everywhere. How he didn't bag a hattrick I will never know. Actually I do... 1) The post and to an extent 2) Nani is a fucking selfish tnuc. (although a great assist for the 2nd goal)
