What I think you got goin on here for a start is real good. I really like the melody of your basslines. I think maybe work on your layering of beats, a louder, more distinct snare. And maybe work on making the hi-hats and other sounds more distinct(in there own space, maybe experiment with panning and different volumes). It sounds like you have a real good ear for melody just from that bassline, and the synth melody running parallel over the bass. Try throwing in some contrasting melodies to add new ideas to the track, but I think you've got a great thing goin so far.
Thanks man!
i downloaded that bome mouse keyboard thing and i was trying to make a desent bass synth but i got bored and i started fucking around with the chords and stuff on the bome keyboard, after a couple minutes of trying to put together some decent major chords i basically found that melody. do basically it was trial and error untill i found something i liked lol. i do want to produce something with a bit more variation than a 4 note drone though so im going to buy that Korg nanokey. I would buy a full keyboard if i had the money, but im a boy on a budget. the only income im earning is the money from my paper round (sucks to be 15 )
The drum samples i used were just from a drum and bass kit from the factory sound bank, i didnt have any refills at the time but now ive downloaded a crazy amount of a torrent site (i think it was like 25gig or something stupid).
Anyway i really appreaciate the feedback and ill get back into the hardcore producing mode after ive finished my exams in a couple of weeks.
Code Zero wrote:@Tdubz dnb thing
a decent basic idea for a dnb track, it all could sound more powerfull like mentioned above some more layers in drum etc. try making a more warmer wobble on that together with the sharp one you got going on right now, curious about how its gonna sound when finished
Thanks! i'll definatley experiment with different wobbles and sounds when i get back to editing the song. hopefully ill end up with a nice summery feeling track when im done

To me this is pretty finished, but before i send it off to get mixed I would appreciate any last feedback from you guys! On the track as a whole and maybe on what to mix as well! I think it needs a few subtle changes or at least fx on the main synth keys so it doesnt stay the same throughout but let me know what you think! feedback returned! Cheers!

A grade tune man, thats friggin amazing!
I listened though it a couple of times and i have spotted something that i think could be improved, but its really minor.
basically, you know in the middle like where it breaks down, you know how when the sub bass kicks in again but it kicks in on the last note; i think you should have the sub bass like just fade in from the first note rather than suddenly coming in on the last one. it would be more epic imo
Apart from that though, pretty damn flawless!

My internets not loading soundcloud tracks for some reason atm, but I promise I'll check out you track and leave you some crit tomorrow code. Thanks very much for my feedback, I agree with you about the wobbles, was my first time writing anything you could class as dubstep and was the first thing that I got that sounded half decent so I just ran with it. Ive got a couple of new ideas in the pipeline and bassline is sounding a lot less sterile and clinical now, after a bit more experimenting.

this is a sick tune, everything fits together really well. i would say that its a tad bass heavy but that may just be my speakers. would love a 320 if your dishing any out. really like those swirling keys or whatever they are and that vocal sample is just lush. big ups man
im a noob and made my own topic

quite like the melodies in this one. one thing i have to say is that its sounds all too mid-rangey and theres not many elements filling in the lows and highs. try bringing out your sub more and adding more hi-hats/atmosphere to fill in the highs. you sort of fix this in the second drop where the bass has a bit more presence and theres more elements in the track

the drums and the ambience in the intro sound nice and crisp, just think you could bring that sub out slightly more. i like the way you've worked the little vocal snippets in there too. after the drop, i think the drops are way too loud and literally block out the rest of the track. sort out the mixdown on this and it'll be a nice little chillled roller. just my 2 cents

heres a grime instrumental i made, some feedback from you lot would be lovely
Thanks for all the feedback! Glad you guys are feeling the track! I think it just needs a mix and then its done!
Sorry didnt leave feedback first, I normally always do but didnt have my speakers but now i do so here it is:
@Code Zero, Saw your comment about the mixing of it and yea to be the mix sounds good, everything has its space, although this isnt really my kind of track i think people who like that style would be into it, as as you say its quite straight forward,so i do think maybe add a little more or even just a few more subtle changes every 16 or whatever.
@imperial nice percussion, feeling that a lot! this track has quite an original style in my opinion, so nice one on that, i agree the bass seems a bit heavy sometimes and i think the drums need a bit more punch, the flute or whatever that is is nice as well.
@Tdubz some nice ideas in this but it definitely needs a mix! It all sound a bit muddy to me if you know what i mean, nothing really stands out in the mix.
Nice idea with the melodies though, liking those pads/synths!
@mistayif yea liking this one man, def got that grime sound to it! Good drum programming, and good use of sounds overall! I like how you switch it up every so often too, keeps it interesting.

I've had a good look through some of these tunes and you guys got some sweet tunes goin on!
some that really stuck out;
@Tempers Rouge; loved the airplanes mix, very flux pavillion lol, bit of a weak snare, but otherwise big up!
@Hellomadame; night runner is some dirtyy stuff!!! liking the nice flowing drumbeat and the filth wobble, nice work man.
@vdbproductions; 'die mf' if pretty filthy man! one thing tho some of the wobbles seem a little out of sync, but maybe you were going for that? variation is good too, liking the sounds
@S0VEREIGNTY; sweet track man, some dirty sounds going on, nice switch to jungle too aha. needs a bit more going on i think tho, give the drop more impact. very datsik, maybe a little less wobble, but nice work man big up.
@Code Zero; torpedo is massive! very jumpy and dirty, nice work man.
@Imperial; liking the native man sort of style with the flute and congas in "consuela" will be interested to hear it when its finnished.
@kontigobeats; nice one, very well mixed, nice vocal sample, big up
@mistayif; good grime track, very metallic and good beat going on, i'm not a huge grime fan but this is big!
This ones my newest, found some old loony toons cartoons and sampled them, just finnished the mixdown today.
If i could get some feedback on it i can tweak some bits to improve it

thank you for the feedback; i need to clean up the bass in parts and definatly bring them drums forward, i will be sure to post the final version with a download link here
and your tune 'here i come'; i like this a lot surprisingly for a tune thats not a hard-hitter or overly filthy, it gets a lot better towards the end when that 2nd synth comes in(the panning one) and you've said that your going too change the main synth to make it less repetative- don't, i think that plays a crucial role in keeping the beat, sorta the backbone of the tune
big up!
AND FOR THOSE WHO MISSED MY NEW TUNE HERES A LINK(DIRTY DUBSTEPP)-

thank you for your feedback as promised, some in return
@ DjPsychonaut I agree the 2nd drop is a lot better, as par usual in most of my tunes as well, my only critism is that your tune dosent sound all there, i dont know wat is is but i feel something is missing- this could just be me tho; i like the grimey style it has to it, reminds me of silencers tune-world war 4 and 'yor' wobble you've got going
ill be sure to post the final version of consuela when its mixed down and mastered and for anyone wondering why its called consuela thats the name of the mexican maid in family guy- hence the sample lemon pledge?!
@imperial thanks for the feedback, yea i didnt mean change it much i meant like maybe just a subtle filter in some places, as then when its brought back in the impact will come back again, but yea i reckon its pretty much done! and yea i thought of family guy when i saw the name of your track!

@ Code Zero Cool track man, I ike it.Everthing is sounding good in my opinion. The arrangement also works well, like you said it's quite straightforward, which I dont usually like, but the whole intro, heavy bit, middle section, heavy bit, outro, works in this instance. The only thing I might change is, perhaps to alter the speed of the wobs throughout the track, to me, the 1/8 triplets seem to get a bit too repititive after about 2 mins, maybe try switching it up after the second drop. Good stuff, keep it coming.
