because if it was on principal he would turn himself in to publicly fight the governments seeking him
a public addressing of the leaked info would bring more attention to his cause than anything.
Most protestors take getting arrested as a badge of honor yeah? Just saying... this guy is willing to ruin other peoples lives but not his own?
This is like the bomb maker sending suicide bombers off saying "well someone has to make the bombs right?"
The people of the internet are more dedicated to his cause than he is. Just sayin

tbh if paypal and a banking system can be crippled with a simple DDoS attack they need to reevaluate their network and security

true, but look at all the battles between song-encryption technologies and hackers... the hackers love a challenge...
plus, paypal went down for about 8hrs total... not sure what these DDoS attacks accomplish, anyway...
for more info, check this blog that i'm scoping that seems to be on top of the whole ordeal:
http://pandalabs.pandasecurity.com/tis- ... ks-editio/
check the comments... those anons love to get worked up haha
also peeped this thread on chan not too long ago (meaning it could be a troll but could be someone legit):
That's right, you wikileaks cockriders. Unfuck yourself now.
I'll bet none of you have read any of the documents and are simply being fed propaganda by leftist bloggers about "censorship" and "total transparency", while realizing a number of the documents pertain to not only American interests, but foreign interests abroad as well. So we have non-Americans involved.
One reason why these documents, while a number are incredibly mundane, dealing with patrol operations, debriefings, incidents with insurgents/ambushes, tactics, and have zero information regarding the "vast war crimes" you homophobe. hoped would be in them, I'll give you a reason why they SHOULD be classified.
I've spoken with my friend's brother, who has served two tours in Iraq. He was not allowed to have photos taken of him, or his name and address made known, what have you. Personal information that could be tracked back to his family and loved ones by terrorists and insurgents, if captured.
Now these documents have the names of soldiers and what not involved in various operations. If those individuals' identities were made public, a potential shitstorm could be brewing. Maybe not now. But in the future, definitely.
So think before you get a hard dick about people shutting down Wikileaks. If you think you're sending a message or something, you're not. The government doesn't care. Nobody does. You are not making a difference. You're fighting for a cause you don't even fully grasp.
Also, enjoy the blood of Afgan and Iraqi civilians on your hands who will be murdered for collaborating with Americans.

I'm guessing these so called leaks only serve to create a threat to which the US will respond by bringing into force laws which will enable them to control the internets and it's content on a level we've not yet seen.

Yep, but on nowhere near the same scale.

stuff comes out from other countries all the time (as far as I'm aware, Italy and France have had leaks over the past years of 'confidential' government information - in France, I'll just mention Le Corbeau, a whistleblower that has leaked quite a lot of info in the past decade...
http://spinwatch.org/-news-by-category- ... ench-style <- an article on the clearstream affair).
It's just that people are not interested in what those countries are up to. It's much more interesting when it comes from the US, because people know more about US politics. Also, I think because there is a paucity of interest outside those 'other' countries, people don't really bother to translate a lot of the stuff. It's a shame, some of it is juicy!

They do...
And where's the evidence that manning was paid for his efforts? He wasn't, there was no "bribery". Manning chose to contribute to an operation himself and others already contributed to.

People need to actually start reading cables before they pretend to know what's in them.
