jesse spent most of last season on his own

this season he wants to be around people constantly, maybe its the only thing stopping him from just killing himself

apparently the writers were gona kill him off at the end of the 1st season but kept him cos they liked the actor so much

he was proper annoying in the first season, tbh i've found him an annoying character the whole way through, one of the reasons i actually stopped watching after the 1st series in the first place

I definitely questioned his character in the first season but grew to like him, a whole dynamic of the show is lost without him.

Caught up fully now, even the first 2 episodes of season 4

I can't decide on what Mike will do... I mean if he sides with Walt, surely Gus has someone else who could simply kill Mike off? Killing Walt is clearly out of the question - he is the show, essentially - and I believe killing Jesse is out of the question too, for now at least. His character arc is at a very interesting point, I actually sympathise with him. He doesn't want to be alone and is clearly falling into a pit of depression and chaos. Walt in comparison is now fully the "bad guy". I struggle to find anything good about him, we haven't seen him do anything loving for ages. I very much enjoy watching this show (best thing since Lost imo), the writers have done a stellar job at making the viewer sympathise and then dislike a character all the while keeping the show gripping.

I agree with the previous post about Hank and Marie, the whole marriage close to tatters thing has been done (Walt and Skylar) but I find it quite compelling. Remember Walt's speech about being remembered as being a vegetable or whatever? We never got to see Walt being bathed by Skylar and embarrassed, but Hank - the manlier of the two, let's be honest - is clearly embarrassed by his situation. He can barely walk, but puts on a manly front when the carer is there but behind closed doors he's miserable and angry. I can see it becoming stale however, I hope he gets a quick recovery which I think is likely as I can see Marie willingly employ the therapist full time since she isn't the one footing the bill.

ok ima go sleep now, shit

Srsly? I don't think they've turned him into the bad guy at all. Just someone who got far too caught up in the drug bizz to really do anything but that. I still sympathize with him, to be honest.

They've still failed to make Hank and Marie decent characters after all this time. Hank's pretty sharp and a good cop, but the macho bullshit is grating. Marie is just obnoxious. They're necessary, but I don't like them at all.

I was relieved, the music was always great in this show. This episode has given me hope over season 4.

I keep meaning to check the credits, but has the actual composer changed? The score itself seems a very different style.

I still find the show gripping and intense, I just think that Walt is now too far in to the drug business to be redeemed. I mean, he has killed men - serious shit. When you look back on it, he has essentially ruined Jesse's life. He was getting on quite alright doing little deals here and there but when he was roped into the big money game things clearly got worse for him and look where he is now.

I've yet to see ep 4 but I was a little disappointed in ep 3 to be fairly honest. One of the more boring filler/progression episodes.

Episode four was definitely a return to form. First three felt a bit "off" except for that one long, amazing scene with Gus in the lab.

Also this is the first episode in a long time where I didn't mind Skylar.

Ep 4 was actually pretty good. Agreed that Skylar wasn't nearly as annoying. I genuinely think Jesse is done for in this season, if not the upcoming episode it will be not long after. I reckon Gus got the message and will be looking for another partner for Walt and then try to kill Walt off before the DEA's search gets even closer. If this happens, I have no idea how Walt would escape. No idea where else the show could go, but it's good to see things are picking up now - there's only so much of Jesse's "party" scenes I could take.

Pretty hyped for next episode. Walt looks like he's going to take control, lay it out to Gus since he knows Jesse is missing.

Nah mang, no way is Mike dying this early, in the promos they made out he'd be one of the main characters this season.

SPOILER ALERT

Yeah, I think the whole thing with the freezer truck is supposed to setup Mike's frustration with the work he has to do for Gus, and by the look on his face when the whole boxcutter thing happened, you know that he thinks the situation is fucked up. I think he mostly beat up Walter to vent his frustration on him for making him doubt his alliegance to Gus.

Yeah, definitely see Mike becoming a bigger player in this thing. We've only seen glimpses of him outside of work, so I reckon the writers could make him into a fantastic character.

i just had a premonition.

what if mike is taking Jesse to meet gus (to that trailer in the middle of nowhere) to offer him the option of killing walt, teaching them how to do the meth, and getting the fuck out.

Like you kill walt or we kill you.

Do you think Jesse would do it though? I mean, Jesse's mentally fucked as it is so I can see where you're coming from. Gus could take advantage of Jesse's fragile state of mind but I'm not convinced. I reckon Walt will do something that will cause a big deal - note in the trailer he demands to see the boss (Gus) - so I reckon Walt is going to try and escape the grasps of Gus's business. How he does this, or even gets the upper hand over Gus I have no idea. Remember, after his 3 months are up Walt is disposable and he knows this.

Also, in ep 4 notice how the camera in the lab was fixed on Jesse. I reckon Walt is now operating within and against Gus so will defend Jesse to the best of his ability. I don't know, this is just a clusterfuck of thoughts
