Yes, he really did assault him. If you didn't hear that it is likely for a reason. When he was shot, he was on top of Zimm pounding his head into the concrete.

lol what 1984 bills have been passed in UK? other than cameras on police which is surely a good thing.

Well, quite... but Duggan was running away from *the police trying to arrest him* - he was "profiled" as a criminal because he was a known criminal. Trayvon was profiled as a criminal by a civilian because he was young and black and had the nerve to walk around his own neighbourhood in the rain wearing rain proof clothing. It's difficult to compare the two really.

Duggan should never have been shot at and will hopefully lead to changes in the way our society lets our police use their guns, but Martin should never have even been spoken to and should (but seemingly won't) lead to changes in the way US society sees young, black men and entitled civilians who walk around carrying hand-cannons on the off chance they meet someone who looks a bit dodgy.

It's okay, you can admit it, if you've bought an item or two or ten for yourself.
