Massive oversimplification. There were zionists who were pushing for this long before WWII, some who even WELCOMED WWII. Jews were already moving to the land long before that.

And even if we did fuck something up... how could we fix it? We're not there, we're not the Palestinians, we're not the Israelis. We're just a third party.... We only know what we're told and what we see, but we have no direct experience with what's best for the people living there.

And do you trust our governments, the same ones who've been pretty consistent of their backing of Israel, to suddenly change their mind and be objective about this? And heck, dis is the middle east. One landmass floating on oil. You can't expect western involvement with at least some pay-off.

Our governments made a mistake, but there's no need to let Israeli, Plestinian AND European/American citizens take the responsibility for it.

Very few people have actually suggested what THEIR solution would be. So I repeat. What is your solution if it was 100% going to be enacted?

Let them fight (without international intervention - though I feel kind of weird saying this knowing that the balance of power is DISPROPORTIONATELY skewered in Israel's favor) until enough people are dead for one side to feel like it has come out on top, because you KNOW that at this point both Israel and Hamas just want as many people to die as possible. Of course, that's not to say that the conflict won't eventually reemerge in some other way, but you know, this stopped being about trying to find a peaceful solution a long-ass time ago.

Yeah and I'm saying, it's too complex of an issue to just play the blame game and foreign involvement puts the responsibility on the citizens of those countries, who've never had anything to do with it.

How about arming the Palestinians to the same extent as the israelis? You would see real negotiations for division of the land and ultimately peace that both sides could live with. Ether that or most of the people would be dead and the land would be uninhabitable for some time.
