Ok, so I've seen a couple of people asking this in some threads, but (correct me if I'm wrong) I haven't seen any good and complete answers. And as I'm pretty sure it's something that more and more people are asking for, I might as well just start an official MACHINE GUN FILTHY DARKSTEPISH BASS THREAD.
Anyways, this is the main sound I'm looking for:
0.30
0.28
Or basically almost any tune in this mix
It's that gritty, metallic, banging brain melting kind of bassline I'm looking for. I've got to something close in Massive with a Daft filter and a Duckorgan osc, but not really the same. If somebody knows how to make that exact sound, it would be much appreciated if they could explain. And if it's not only Massive (or not even Massive), please give details or add some pics/vids. I haven't found any on yt or anything. Thanks!
BOICCIUS
ps.: I know some of the artists I've quoted above are in this forum, I they or anybody else sees this and think I wanna copy them... Not even close, I just wanna make that sound, see how it's done in detail, and then take a step back so I can make my own style!

buy machine gun to protect you and your family
sample machine gun
or...
realize that darkstep is a dnb subgenre and not a dubstep subgenre, use DSF search and look for machine gun bass, coki/requake/badklaat/megalodon/hench midrange. There are tons and tons of threads over this same sound popping up all the time. Also look into resample threads and distortion threads.

I posted a thread on what the name for this is called, and was told "growl bass". The thing is I'm not talking about the bass itself, I'm talking about what's in between the bass line, it's a kind of reverse-symbolish effect, with some LFO and obviously a synth, not a drum.
It can be heard at exactly 1:20 here youtube.com/watch?v=B3WMlT7wXg0
Is there any particular name for this kind of thing? If not, I'd still like to know how to make it as it doesn't sound too hard to make, but I can't figure it out as I'm only new to sound design.
Oh, and yeah, Fytch isn't the best dubstep artist out there, but I just think his music is a good starting point to learn from.
Thanks!
anyone?

Hello, I am trying to recreate the bassline from Savant- Bada Bing

Savant is on FL if I remember correctly, all of his basses sound like they've been passed through the soundgoodizer a bit. Could help you get closer to his sound c:

Basically, all it is, is Massive with a duckorgan or something like that with a performer assigned to either a filter or the amp on the oscillator. Then they probably use phase modulation and the sine and parabolic shaper in massive as well as some dimension expander. That's basically how I make some of my stuff. Try using band filters and comb filters.
Peace

I've been wondering for ages how to make this little sound, it would be useful in my song Lucky.
The sound happens @ 0:32
The sound is in between the wobbles. Sorta like a saw thing, really un sure about how to re create it.
Help me out please!

Sounds like a supersaw chord stab with gating on it, or it's been chopped up. Might be some slight upwards pitching too.
Detuned & Layered saw waves will get you similar starting point.
Also that remix is fucking terrible.
Lols.

How to make UK dubstep bass hornish sound?

Yo guys this is my first post on here! Thanks for the add admins, anyway I'm trying to get this UK ruskoish bass sound, Id assume its a mid/high bass layered with a sub but i can't quite get it. Heres an example of what I'm talking about
Hey, guys
I'm flipping through the posts now and noticed that no one seems to be interested in making sounds from the more minimal side of things.
I would like to hear if you have ideas on any of those sounds that LX One or SP became known for using. Anything from sub to mid range.
This bassline by Ed Rush & Optical sounds pretty interesting too.
specific sound production/modulation

Hi there
i got a question:
what is that for a kind of dubstep and how do i produce those wobbles.
actually i konw how to create wobbles and i already read tutorials for wobble modulation, synthesis etc.
its kinda .. not filthy in the skrillex way or flux pavilion or even in the cookie monsta way.
its like a saw .. but not really a saw rubbed on metal but not that extrem .. i cant describe.
could be a flanger as well but what is with the envelope?
i use massive for wobbles but in my ears every wobble sound same, even if i play with envs, filters, inserts and osc settings.
how do you call those dubstep and how do you produce those intros, drops, wobbles etc.
soundexamples: Soundcloud
im already tried to work with synced delay and reverbs but i mean the spirit of these tunes

multiple distortion units with low mix levels... phaser/flanger in between them can 'modulate' the distortion and give movement. comb filter if youre using massive is great... envelope that filter to get movement across a note and then automate a low pass filter to draw your growls in. also, automating multiple parameters or even multiple filters can create some crazy variation and movement.
