Not as long as I'd like to but more time than I have spare. We seem to be getting tracks into playable states in about 4-5 sessions. Personally I'd rather spend longer to make them really good but end up cutting it short due do lack of available time

ye usually takes me at least a week because of all the automation! (spending bout 4 hours a day). But sometimes it can take months and sometimes i just dont finish it, im still improving every time i create a track, but the learning curve isnt as steep so im leaving less tunes unfinished because i think they are sub standard.

I generally take a pretty long time from my first inspriation to a finished track. Maybe a couple months. I don't how these other folks can make tunes so quick! I can come up with ideas easily but actually taking the time to get them as good as possible takes me a long time. Altough, it's not like I'm working on one track 8 hours a day for months. I work on more then one track at a time, I have a day job and so on.
But, yeah, it takes me a long ass time!!

I ususally use the same synths and mixer settings for most of my songs. I save all my mixer settings and synths. It cuts my production time a lot. I used to spend days trying to figure out a sound. So Saving all the things I like saves up time.

when I'm really feeling a track I can have the majority done in 48 hours but I know its probably shite and make myself re work it for the next week with small tweaks here and there then a proper mixing before it's done....only problem is I haven't quite figured out the whole proper mixing part so I haven't finished a track yet...

FL has a time counter. Mine rarely goes over 12 hours.
I don't know, even when I do get technical with stuff, it just doesn't take me that long to do. I've always wondered what it is that keeps people working on a tune for that long, know a dnb producer, Puzzle, spends as much as 60 hours on tunes, I'm, kinda embarrassed at how quickly I get it done, surely I'm missing something
Longest I remember spending is 20 hours.
I very rarely finish anything I start overall, about 300 "works in progress"(parts to recycle), 30+ finished bits over the past 4 or 5 months

A month give or take I'd reckon. I'm not working on only a single tune for a month, but typically to finish up a tune it'll be around a month.

for a while last year i was doing 2 - 6 hours max in spread to a week but since october to march i stop making beats only recently gone back to it but people say mixing music is like riding a bike at the moment production for me feels like am riding a tricycle again lol
normally 1 week to 2 weeks these days i've tryed to spend more time on tunes but i drift away and want to start new tunes instead
but this year i want to make less music so will try to spend more time on them..
i'll try to make quality not quantity.

Jack Sparrow posts here fairly regularly. As for me, tend to just churn out shells of songs in about 10-15 minutes and come back to spend about an hour putting together a decent mix.
Nice necro.

I have a serious tweaking problem...tracks take me weeks, minimum, and if I leave it alone for a month and come back then I feel the need to tweak more. Not sure if its a bad thing, but it seems like a lot of the big producers really churn this stuff out...maybe they just have a solid workflow worked out
