Yeah really DMZ lives off its old name now, like where are these hordes of fans at other nights? fuck knows but they all crawl out when DMZ is announced

I only went to 8, (6 I missed as I had nowhere to stay) apart from some tnuc getting on his mates shoulders and stamping an oily footprint on my tshirt, its was good. I didnt watch dmz loefah b2b tho, went and saw kahn cos fuck listening to 2 tunes then a wheel up coki banger for an hour in there.

tbh, i'm very disillusioned with dubstep nights now, system was the only one i was feeling, being able to smoke in there changes the vibe of a party dramatically. most medi nights are full of students off their faces on MDMA and know nothing about the music or haven't bought into the vibe of true dubstep.

most of the new producers like commodo, kahn, compa, kajuu, who everyone seems to be into nowadays, are either too hype or too boring for me most of the time.

las, karma, and the new system record by versa are more my thing but the nights aren't really there for them, vibe wise.

i'm going to leeds subdub dmz this saturday and its probably gonna be my last dubstep i attend. the vibes just aren't there for me anymore

Personally I'd be happy listening to dubstep records b2b on a nice system at this point, but anyway I reckon it'll still be pretty decent , have fun guys

If you're not feeling the vibes of current nights try make one of your own

Get together with some mates & book the up & comers you're feeling in a good space, as yung Lenghurm has been doing with Converge, alongside others like Kiroku, The Mine, in Brighton etc.

I know this is easier said than done espesh in London but as a collective its unhealthy to just rely on DMZ/System/Medi's irregular nights to bring the vibes

exactly, shouldn't be relying on the same 10 or so guys to run nights and complain when they get bigger. If there are no small nights, then the bigger ones will always be a roadblock.

Electronic music rule #1:
Just do it. Nobody else will.

All that complaining about too little nights / shit bookings / etc. is so long. Save a bit of money (you don't need that much tbh; I'm a student and still manage to run two nights, one of them going for three years) and take matters into your own hands. Doesn't even have to be dubstep, just do whatever you want man. Fuck, three of my mates even opened their own club a little while back, and they're far from being rich.

Most important ingredients in a good and successful project: your fam supporting, and a clear vision & concept. Take notes from Converge; never been to one, but it seems like they got that shit down to a T. Same goes for Phrex's Dubtopia and - if I may say so - for my nights aswell.
