The bolded bit is just plain insulting to english people, many of which are extremely hard workers. And overly flattering to asians, many of which I know to be, by their own admission, layabouts.Surface_Tension wrote:What you don't get is that your average Asian(be they from Pakistan, China, Japan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cambodia..) will work circles around you in both the Classroom and the workroom. It comes down to this... while you're here bitching and pissing and moaning about the jobless situation in the middle of the day on a Thursday(a work day in pretty much every country) someone else is out there making that check.DanRev wrote:You know, maybe he isnt a immigrant hating racist, and is on this site because he likes dubstep and recognises that its got many cultural influences, maybe he just wants jobs to go to experienced local workers who are in hard place at the moment rather than purposefully importing someone from abroad. To be honest I think its fair enough if someones living here and they get a job over a native brit, but if they've no intention to live here other than because their employer has paid for them to be moved and work here, and then go back home when they're finished, thats a bit off and its shafting the local workforce who may not be trained in anything else, and have little chance of finding a job elsewhere in their town/area.
Theres a problem with people, in that they think if someone has one right wing principle, they must be a fully fledged far right, boarding on fascist. Works the same with the left, people see one slightly socialist viewpoint and they must be a stalinist commie.
Don't project your self loathing on the hard working people of India who came to your country because of your bullshit colonialist policies over the centuries.
holy fuck, didnt expect to find peolpe like this on dubstep forum... theres ignorant people every where i supposeDjprojekts wrote:Theres protests going on at the mo about foreign workers taking our (english) peoples jobs.
Gordon Brown said in 2007 lets have British jobs for British people.
I still say that the UK should of never opened its doors to immigrants n so on, should of had the Austrailian rule where u need visa and qualifications etc to enter and live in Austrailia.
EDIT: I think also that foreigners have took over our fast food industry aswell, for example i went to my local KFC the other day and ALL of them aint english, they couldnt even understand me properly?? WTF??!

Is this not racial stereotyping also?Surface_Tension wrote:What you don't get is that your average Asian(be they from Pakistan, China, Japan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cambodia..) will work circles around you in both the Classroom and the workroom.

Nope, the Italians are on the same T+C's as the English folk.pk- wrote:does anyone know if this italian firm has to pay the UK minimum wage since the contract is for work done over here?
or do they have to pay the US minimum wage since they're subcontractors for an american firm?
one portugese chap channel 4 interviewed said he was getting a grand less a month than the british workers on the site
Asian isn't a race, it's a continent. Like if I said "British people are hardworking" that wouldn't be some racist propaganda, it would be a compliment to the British people, who apparently I thought were hardworking. But yea, I maintain that stereotype that Asian people outwork every other place on the planet. Next time you take a look at some product, let me know where it comes from. Let me know how much it was made for, and then let me know how much it would cost to make in Britain.kins83 wrote:Is this not racial stereotyping also?Surface_Tension wrote:What you don't get is that your average Asian(be they from Pakistan, China, Japan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Cambodia..) will work circles around you in both the Classroom and the workroom.
Whether it's a positive or negative trait, assumptions shouldn't be drawn based on where someone is from.
It's because their economies aren't as advanced as the Uk and there is currently a surfeit of labour, living conditions are cheaper, houses etc. It's a stupid comparison to make.Surface_Tension wrote:Asian isn't a race, it's a continent. Is it still a racial stereotype, or an observation?
