how is that opinion unpopular? I don't think I know a single person who'd disagree.
re: recent dubby dubstep. I don't get how that somehow fits in with the Mystikz aesthetic; most of Mala's prolific output is anything but halfstep; Mystic Winter, Neverland, Stand Against War, AWD etc. for me stand out as tunes drawing their energy from tight-ass, grime and garage informed drumpatterns. even his dubbiest tune to date, Ancient Memories, features a shuffled rhythm. Loe never really was on the dubby side of things (atleast not in the overly "LOOK IT'S DUB"-way some WAR or Lioncharge records were forged). The only dmz-guy really exploring a genuinely dubby sound was Coki, and even he managed to overshadow these productions with his grimier (Haunted, B) or tear-outy bits (everything else).
I bought a couple of Lioncharge and WhoDemSound records simply to beef up my selection a bit, but spending any more money on that stuff seems utterly pointless to me and I hope someone will finally bring back some nice shuffling drumworks. In the meantime, I'll follow the 130 stuff a bit closer, since, let's be real and drop the pretentious "no it's new and WE made it!" attitude, it's actually dubstep with a bit more room for rhythmic experiments.
Out to the bloke who spent 100quid on Lioncharge001.

I know we hate vinyl scalpers but I'd seriously consider selling my copy of LIONCHG001 if some sap wants to spend 100 pounds on it

i didn't mean their vibe like in the drums i more just meant the overall reggae soundsystem culture vibe they had

that's been around forever though and isn't restricted to dubstep. take all the Smith & Mighty releases for example. yet today's jungle & drum'n'bass releases aren't dominated by some edit of a well-known reggae tune (not saying these scenes are any less formulaic nowadays, they just focus on different aesthetics, although jungle seems to be in a rather healthy spot at the moment).

plenty of mala tunes are halfstep - blue notez, lean forward, cay's crays remix, drunken swagger, jah power, alicia, education, changes, eyez vip, 2 much chat
but i'd say he's definitely got a good mix between halfstep and more complex rhythms for sure

^ Halfstep isn't inherently boring either though and Mala's made a few rhytmically interesting halfsteppers. You can have a kick-snare backbone and still go all out on the polyrhythms

imo as i said earlier dude this dubbed out vibe is a reaction to brostep and dungeon, trying to recapture og dubstep vibes
who are the og dons, dmz,
who have a bit of an image of jamaican samples, spliffs, soundsystems
not that a lot of other people weren't on that at the time
but i don't feel like trying to argue this point any further cos i don't listen to lioncharge type stuff that much anyway

if its supposed to be a dmz imitation then its a pretty poor one
a lot of that stuff is so corny

NOT FEELING THE NEW KENDRICK
will give it another go cos i think he's a sick guy
it just sounded like he used an album d'angelo scrapped in one of his wilderness periods for the music
i feel like i just spent an hour in a well-reviewed cocktail lounge

Nah seriously though, on first listen I thought it was alright but I'm REALLY feeling it now. It's incredibly well written and some of the productions are really sick

yeah that bandulu. maybe not really unpopular but i don't think they're that well known + kahn & neek's stuff is hyped as fuck and i don't get it anymore. listened to the previews of the last one (at least i think it's the last one) and there was like one good tune on it and that sounded like a grime-y dubstep tune from '04

why is it cool to question the under representation of, say women or black people, holding higher-up positions in domains like media, politics, finance etc, yet you're automatically an antisemite if you ask about the bizarre over representation of jewish people in these same domains?

because the term semite and how it is used is a decoy used to bait
the semites wheren't people of jewish faith but rather a mixed arabic culture, so when zionists (or less politicized variations of jewish people) equate jewish people with semites it's saying that they are endemic to most of palestine and that the area is by definition culturally evocative of what became israel, historically
jewish people are in that sense inherently antisemite which is super ironic and super clever
not completely unlike when mormons politicise ( i mean straight up claim + lie about) being the original white inhabitants of the united states (not even all of america I think, btw

) because it just happens to fit in with some political agenda

i think a lot of people would question whether your premise is even true. looking at the US media, most of the major tv personalities/anchors aren't Jewish, although there do seem to be more executives.
In politics, there has
never been a Jewish president or VP. Only 34 congressmen are Jewish (7.8%), though that is technically an over-representation because 2.2% of the total pop. is Jewish. Finance is harder to say. Janet Yellen and Ben Bernancke are both Jewish though, so maybe you could make a case.
i wouldn't consider you an anti-semite simply for asking, and i doubt most reasonable people would. there could be plenty of reasons for an over-representation of Jews in these areas that have nothing to do with some huge of conspiracy theory. maybe they tend to be better educated for whatever reason. i've noticed there are way more Jewish people at my college than there were in high school, and i highly doubt that's a result of some kind of conspiracy.
that said, there is definitely an element of political correctness and maybe "guilt" that leads to our bizarre relationship with Israel however.

on the other hand if you look at the distribution of wealth (which is probably the most reliable general indicator of influence and power in the US) there's a pretty clear over representation
after typing the most izan-esque google search of my life, i found that, for example, 30% of the forbes top 100 in 2010 were jewish
