I like brostep just not skrillex,i'm not jealous at all i just simply don't like his tunes.Feed me is a much better producer using similar techniques in his tracks to skrillex.His sound design is better,mix's are better,beats are better.....you get my point.You can listen to it all you like but like you we are welcome to our own tastes,it does not boil down to jealousy at all and really to be honest you are just showing immaturity,if a Justin Beiber/Skrillex collab gets you off props mate you got the same taste as my 2 teenage kids.

It's not that bizarre, most unsuccessful people (that know they're not going to put in the work to change things) hate on people more successful than them. It's the inevitable next step after giving up on yourself. Haters deserve pity more than anything.

Can we please remove Skrillex as the face of Dubstep? Is that possible in any way? He's a great artist, personally I enjoy his older works more but this stuff he's doing lately is also perfectly fine. People don't hate his music, they hate his image. And he didn't make that image himself. Publicity can be a fuck in the arse sometimes.

The moment that put things in perspective for me was when I saw Skrillex at WEMF 2011 ...he totally train wrecked the mix to the point where the only option was to spin down and start over...he then announces over the PA "Even Skrillex fucks up sometimes!" Crowd of faced 16 yo's orgasm simultaneously over his fuck up.

I really don't feel one way or another about him or his music. I think dropping a couple of his type of tunes at the right time of night can really make a crowd explode. I just don't want to hear only that kind of tune for a whole set, let alone a bunch of sets right in a row.

You're the one double posting in a desperate attempt to defend what's obvious to most people who'll read this thread. Hating doesn't have anything to do with being a fan, it's more of an issue of self-worth and confidence in your abilities. Imo real music fans (people who simply love music instead of artists/genres) can find something to enjoy in any song. For example, I'm not a Justin Beiber fan by any stretch, but if someone played a track of his to me I know I could find something to admire (be it a chord progression, the mixdown, whatever). I wouldn't presumptuously (speaking of which) pigeonhole someone's entire discography because I feel it's for angsty teenagers, especially after admitting to liking metal which was aimed at the very same crowd a few decades ago.

Skrillex is obviously overrated in a way, like any multizillionaire artist is overrated.
I think it's just a natural result of the world we live in: people need superstars. Skrillex makes awesome music, in my opinion, and since this opinion is shared by a lot of other people, including people with influence, he is made to be a superstar. And of course, any superstars are overrated, he doesn't make that much better music as his youtube hits or his bank account suggest, but he's the last guy to blame for it.
