In a way it's a very important distinction with the term BRO itself because the inherent hormone beef cake angle there was so central to the whole commercialisation going on in the states with the frat bois wha?see

and listening to 'electronic dub music' lol in a gym which might the most income bit about it all tbf - if not skrillex hair itself
Back in the day in the uk it was chavs and chav m8s that infused jungle into a chav and made for example dillinja. They are central to good stuff like source direct and that.
Chavs are fun and imo only pejorative for the posh

Sweeping generalisations
How old were you 7yrs ago? Did you have your finger on the pulse of the fledgling scene?
I (sadly) wasn't there when the dubstep scene started crawling from the depths. But I do remember when people first started talking about it...
Most people thought it was weird and the few people who listened to it were kids who spent their lives playing xbox and talking about world o Warcraft.
That was brostep though
In the uk, real Dubstep was often made by actual black people

with most of the major electronic music genres, the seeds of the genre were almost always sown by the urban / lower class and then gradually peak after a few years with the help of mostly middle class sort of geeky dudes (the richie hawtins, pevs, and david kennedys)
of course at a certain point most of them are coopted by normies & bougies and become something else entirely

I've never really been into the majority of Cotti's and Kode9's music
9 Samurai is a masterpiece though.

I'm also not a big fan of Chinese food, I hate the Titanic film, Blondes have to be very good looking, like supermodelish to be attractive, I think 9/11 was a conspiracy, I hate fruit cake and dumplings, i only watch bgt and x-factor auditions for the funny, embarrassing and stupid acts that never go through and so on...
