It's of less importance to the story but.. .

The expanded time bit that leads to the conclusion..

The affair

The two black gentlemen cleaning up (Key and Peele - who ironically and probably un-related has turned their own show into a true detective homage)

And there was even more than that... but I've luckily forgot them in the mean time.. but it was weird watching them back to back to be sure..

more like lifted than stolen tbh

Or just classic tropes of TV dramas...

I can't remember half of those in 1 program, let alone appearing in both.

Expanded time?!
If they came out at the same time, they most certainly didn't influence each other.

the movie is like that as well tho

and the key & peele thing, i thought that was just to remind people it's all absurd

it doesn't ruin anything

but it's definitely a room of writers taking some liberties

expanded... hmmmm? I mean in both they have to a have a period of time pass
which is just a rare mechanism to write in... it worked in both so its not a problem but weird

Caught up with Homeland now, that last episode was absolutely brilliant. After a very slow start to this season, it's definitely far better than last season.

Also, gone from hating to Lockhart last season to loving the guy this season, he's been hilarious the last few episodes :cornlol:

^agreed.

Thinking of giving The Americans a go, sounds really good and gets fairly decent reviews. Anyone watched it?

Seen the first 4 or so... pretty good. It wasn't quite enough to shoehorn its way past The Wire and Borgen, but definitely worth a look... quite a lot to keep track of, I found, but I think it's just the usual problem for series like that... first few episodes are always a bit too "full".

^Think I'll give it a go, 2nd season was apparently one of the best things of tv last year. Having caught up with Homeland, I need something else to fill the tense spy hole that one episode a week of Homeland can't fill! Thinking about Spooks as well, but not sure.

Yeah, I started it after reading rave reviews of the second series.

Spooks always seemed pretty second rate to me, but I can't say I've ever seen a full episode.

I'm about halfway through the first season of the Americans now and it's started to get pretty cool. Lady's not really hooked into it though.

Borgen's second season absolutely SMASHES it; the two-parter about the war in Africa. :Q:

Only got 2 episodes of The Wire left. :(

I've got the first season of Gomorrah on deck, hubb... you'll be pleased to know it's coming out as soon as I'm done with The Wire. It'd better be good after all your hype.

So.... that Sons of Anarchy finale then. Strange mixture of sadness that it's finally over and relief that it's FINALLY OVER.

The series clearly peaked in season four (?)... the one where the female Agent went fucking HAM, anyway... and has been going downhill ever since, but there's always one thing per episode which makes you think "Ok, I'll give it one more chance..."

No surprises really, but they went a bit too hard with all the symbolism around the homeless woman and Jax going out like Jesus. The Jax and Nero farewell was the only scene that really sucked me in... I don't think half the people watching to the end would still be there if it wasn't for Jimmy Smits tbh. Jax's GTA-style 'making it right' spree was ridiculous. How are you emptying a clip into two people on the courthouse steps and then calmly walking away with no heat?
