Love the first three, never really been that bothered about Surfa Rosa.

Shifted is part of Commix. Never actually did any research, so didn't know that.

Makes a lot of sense actually.

I want to start producing dub but I'm not sure what DAW to go with. I was thinking about Ableton because eventually I would like to do some live performance stuff and I've heard Ableton is best for that. Any ninja advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Surfa Rosa's one of my favourite albums ever. It's got Gigantic on it! Doolittle is brilliant though.

DubTurbo even has Dub in it's name bro.

I am very heavily biased towards Reaper because it has been such a pleasure for me to use.
That being said, everyone will prefer their DAW.
Ableton is know to be good for Live performances but also has many drawbacks for producing.

Out of interest what do you consider its drawbacks?

I don't use Ableton.
In the years I've read about Ableton it occurred to me that there were many drawbacks compared to a DAW like Reaper.

Ableton sequencer/arranger sucks imo and I'm not the only one.

Logic is a very pleasant mixing environment, I don't have it yet though.
I also don't like it's arranger and automation.
Best and most comfortable arrangement windows are found in Reason and Pro Tools in my opinion.

not disagreeing with you guys, just only ever used ableton and was wondering what other DAWs do better. Tbh abletons automation is pretty annoying but don't have anything to compare it too ha.

doesn't matter what DAW u use. know HOW to use your DAW.

i see no drawback with ableton. i find it excellent for arranging a track.

ableton's automation would be ok if they'd put in a snap to grid feature

it's so obvious, i don't get why they don't have it
