I went to the first system and given that kind of exposure would really be good for the scene as tbh their tunes would destroy a dance like that. I wouldnt mind having a spin either :4: LOL

and yes Amit is most certainly a big boy producer

Would love to see Goth-Trad tear up the dance at System. Was listening to his BTC Tokyo Feb 2011 set earlier which is one of the best sets I've heard in a long time. His mixing and productions are second to none.

amit " second cut " bingo recs, 2005. zinc put this out right during that toasty boy era in dubstep, when it was still heavily breaks related. if you listen to darqwan, toasty, search & destroy, slaughter mob, etc from that year, this amit tune got overlooked by nearly everyone, but so did so many tunes coming in that 145-150bpm range. dubstep dj's wouldn't play this stuff then, but zinc the badman that he is, was all over it.

Sounds like more Rani to me? Maybe its just an intro that he's made from cuts out of the Killer Driller session? Doesn't sound like a fully formed track anyway.

does anyone else feel like the whole point of System has veered off to some extent??

I mean I went to one of the first one (the one where it was just VIVEK cause Mala was in San Fran) and it was a brilliant night no doubt. Vibes and all that were there and the tunes were perfect.

I just get the impression a year on its kinda gone off on a tangent to an extent...

What happened to just VIVEK & MALA spinning tunes all night?? Now i know there is a supposed fall out between the 2 but ok. But before that... Guests being brought in? CDJs and Midi Controllers being used and now there is a record label and the opportunity to bring the actual SYSTEM to a night near you?

Whats going on here... Its well and truly changed from those initial plans of an initial night different from all the rest where just acetate would be spinning all night from two of the most respected artists in the scene.

yes to everything tbh. but although all that is true, the night is still top notch (and ultimately that's all that matters).

i do hear you though, it was a ting where it was just a sick night in a top venue and now there's this movement with labels and nights out of london (i'm a ldn hog, everything must remain here :D ). again though, i don't really mind all that.

my only qualm with system is the 1 or 2 people requesting that it should be solely a dub/roots night. maximum respect to that sound but those nights already exist. i go to jah shaka @ the dome so when i reach system it's pretty much for that 140 and (although the name is cringeworthy now) 'dubstep' sound.

System should never be a roots only dance!! It's nice to have the few hours at the start (probably my favourite part about the night tbh) but really it's a dubstep night. As top man said, there are countless other roots dances out there, people just need to actually go to them.

No offence to the guys doing the selecting for the message music but they just aren't going to compare with guys like Aba shanti or Jah shaka who both play out almost as regularly. If you want roots, go to university of dub!

I agree with Moultz as well, one of the things that they based the night on was the fact that it was an analog sound, they've definitely strayed from the original path but it's still a sick night and I'm still very hyped for the next one!

Why or how can it be bad if system can be moved to other places, to EU mainland/America, not everybody is able to reach system and it's quite expensive I can say that. So opening up to crowds who would be willing to attend but can't to me is very welcome. Actually if I'm not mistaken I or someone else asked Mala if system would ever be in Belgium and he already said they wanted to make it more global/move the soundsystem and WHY THE FUCK NOT it's an amazing night to say the least and should be exposed as fuck, the more the merrier!
It's still and always will be about the system

and fuck you you already have way too much in London spoiled stnuc, way too cheap as well

100% agree with miren. Not all of us can travel down to London all of the time. Just because you can hear it in different locations wouldn't take take away the experience you have at London, seems really self centred.

Oh yeah I dont have a problem with it going around, I just assume he will put on more nights rather than "take away" from the four or whatever that are done in london.
