I would have to question your arguing this as being a negative side to the sound.

Don't really agree with what you said about how you have to be zoned out, and you can't just listen to dubstep, what about return 2 space?

@s.a.m, it's both negative and positive imo. What about people who can't go to places with big systems or people who just want to listen on the go.

@dj stick, sorry but I don't understand what you mean :)

@charliefoy, well, I ment that I have to listen it home, door closed.

Okay, now I feel like a fool :P

you dont have to listen to dubstep on a big system to enjoy it,just get yourself a pair of headphones that can pick up bass and then you're good.
even so when i forget my headphones for some reason i can still cope just listening on in ears.

being zoned out to enjoy it?
i don't think so mate, even when i go out to the shows these days, i get by on about 2/3 beers for the whole night.

"that it's too non-personal, any one can do it"
name me a genre where only select handfull of people can do it.

edit - what compells you to close your door when playing dubstep?

People who can't go to places with big systems, the most obvious example still being under 18s, simply don't get the full experience of the music. That might sound unfair, but as is life.

there's a difference between "sad" and "dark." dubstep's original sound definitely has a dark feel to it. the brooding melodies and reverb and basslines you hear AND feel. minor keys. :U:

and yes you need a big system to full enjoy dubstep. that doesn't mean i don't listen to on my home system or in my monitoring headphones. however i remember the first time i heard "dally" in the club - woooooooooooooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

nothing beats hearing a big tune on a system for the first time

Nice track, it's got the obligatory Kurryahuurd seal of approval so it must be good.
