Yeah, think the biggest individual dumbells at my gym are either 27.5 or 30kg, a 50kg dumbell would look fucking ridiculous, it'd either be about 3 foot long or 2 foot tall haha.

We have fifties at my gym. They're big but not ridiculously big. I use em for my bp

Yeah I get a LOT more done than a straight pull to exhaustion. Can actually do a WHOLE one arm pull up now. Still hard as shit though.

Our gym goes up to 40 with the dbs but they have adjustable ones too. May gotta get into that to gain in smaller increments. I can do db shoulder presses with 16 kg (per dumbell) just fine, 5x5. But apparantly 18 kg is my one rep max. Fuck.
Had my most intense deadlift day on Monday. When I was done I dropped myself flat on the floor and then had to sit for a good 5 minutes in an inclined bench to support my back. I didn't ruin or hurt anything. It was literallly just too exhausted to do anything. Putting my plates back was a nightmare.

Anybody else in here play any sports? Realised yesterday that I've only ever been to the gym for sporting reasons, first rugby, then football, then american football.
Now I've got into the habit, I'd probably still go if I didn't play sport, but don't think I'd ever get into it if I didn't.

Might be worth getting it checked out if it still hurts in a few days .
I tore my shoulder muscle in a similar sounding way. It was the death blow to me going to the gym really, I couldnt lift anything for atleast 2 months (not gym just regualr things) or more and when I eventually went back everything was wrecked.
I mean I was doing 3x 10 pull ups with a 15kg dumbell between my legs and then I couldnt do more than 5 normals

said fuck this and sacked it off.
Def considering going back though once movings sorted

Most baffling thing about it is how they get those shorts on. Must be a workout in its own right.
