Some mixers allow to swap the faders with knobs and vice versa. I know it's possible with the Xone:92 for instance.
I even think you can swap without opening the whole unit.

i like to cut and be a bit flash with my mixing. not about a rotary. i can do blends with my eqs and filter just as fynnnn

i think it became kind of a hip gimmick, like if you use a rotary mixer it shows that you are 'in the know' about DJing or whatever.. Like kids read about franky knuckles(or whoever) using a rotary and they latch onto it as a means of proving how legit they are.

Although i am sure there are people who genuinely prefer them for whatever reason, especially older house/disco DJs

Worth noting that that rotary mixer Theo Parrish has (I've just got back from the pub so can't remember the name) does have a good sound to it too as well.

On the subject of the rotary nobs themselves though I guess that's just preference as it depends entirely on what and how you mix.

I truly wonder why I still discuss/advise/try to help ppl, first of all they don't understand the point I'm trying to make (who can blame them really) and so much more ugh so tired of it I'm not even bothered to elaborate
