One of the reason's i don't like this "sub-genre" is because it just sounds shittly produced and is still picked up by labels. It's just constant grinding noises and chainsaws and shit and it just hurts my head after a while and when DJ's play just constant chainsaw shit all through there set it gets extremely menotinous.

I obviously still like mental songs but only when they are done well e.g. Distance, Skream, Coki, Kromestar etc...
it's Vex'd/Coki's fault to begin with.

*typed with some sarcasm...some

I like how Kromestar can flip between the two styles.
Yeah but they do it well, unlike these new producers.
most def (obviously not all of them)

gonna listen to Degenerate when I reach home

The scene died the day we started referring to it as a scene.

The game: You just lost it motherfucker.

:i:

People want to go to the club to dance. If you care about decent male to female ratios at the night, I suggest a blend of varying styles of music. It's not about dicksizing or exclusive dubs except for fanboys for a chosen few and for the bloggers. Big up the bloggers who give us support, but I think they can all admit that there is a vast majority of tunes being produced and released that don't get shit for props and are way better than the competition.

Some of the blogs and radio shows represent for the real underground shit. Then you have the established crew that basically are the ones who tell us all how to think and what to listen to and give new arbitrary names to music that is even remotely innovative.

Play some dance music. Dance hall. Dance Records. Dance Moves. Take your hood off for a minute.

Variety is key. When we have Parties there's always a variety of tunes being played, All kinds of DnB, Dubstep, House, Glitch-hop, Techno, Breaks so when the Heavy Chainsaw tunes come on people go nuts(even the Girls) cuz I guess there not getting blasted with it all night. I guess i would get annoyed if I went to a night or rave and they're was ONLY Brostep being played

Many wise words from the Hellfire!

I might make a thread about the amount of producers using snares in their tracks. they're fucking everywhere, people shouldn't just copy eachother.

seckle wrote:i can't stand this shit. its the lowest common denominator in this sound. it also turns this into the same thing that fucked up DNB/jungle. it turns it into a "i'm more evil" than you kind of party. so people want to see just how evil each set can get over the course of the night, which means that its a whole bunch of dudes standing on the dancefloor and 4 girls. you might as well push play on an ipod and go have a pint, because that's how original the music will be.

it feeds into expectations rather than delivering the power of the sound via its unpredictability. yes, dubstep is diverse. yes dubstep should mutate and have different textures, but this brostep shit isn't mutating...its stagnating. in fact, its just one big formula made by producers without ideas of their own. its the ultimate bandwagon to nowhere fast. as DJ zinc said recently....dubstep needs its own "bandwagon" sub genre.
should have been the end of thread right there. Seckle nailed it.
