Thats why I said there should be an official "DubstepForum.Com" channel?rob sparx wrote:Amen!AntlionUK wrote:in all honest pkay is right, he's just done what people like Mary Anne Hobbs have done just with music that people hate and on youtube rather than the radio.
The difference is that anyone writing decent filth (or shit depending on your point of view) had a decent chance of getting some exposure on inspector dubplate whereas its all the usual political bullshit with MAHs shows - wish some kids would hurry up and bring on some decent and popular utube channels for deeper music to change this state of affairs

Re: Inspector Dubplates channel is deleted!!
Ive been reading through this thread, and as a personal friend of the inspectors i feel compelled to set the record straight, his name is Ryan and he's not some freeloading, self-important false prophet a few of you seem to be making him out to be.seckle wrote:
This inspectordubplate kid just felt entitled to all that music. he put up tunes that were sometimes 8 to 9 months away from release. thats not hype or promotion. thats just taking liberties. the only work that inspectordubplate did was to click download/rip on the audio and then upload away. I guarantee he didn't even have the decency to ask most of those labels if he could upload them in the first place. you comparing him to both mah and bailey is just about the most far fetched comparisons you could've made. also, if you start using the word "hating" , "hater" or "hate" to describe my not agreeing with you or how you see this issue, then you need to look up the dictionary and find out what that word means. for that matter, anyone that uses that word in relation to regular opinion, wins the dumb and dumber award.
Under the alias "InspectorDubplate" he set out to promote new releases from then up and coming artists in the relatively new 'filth' or 'brostep' scene. He started with new tunes from artists such as Funtcase, who also lives in our home town, when he had just begun producing dubstep, switching from his jump up alias "Dose". He also attracted attention from producers such as Borgore, who he had personal contact with. As his popularity grew, a number of producers identified the opportunity to showcase their material to a wide audience, and they submitted high quality previews of their tunes voluntarily. The culmination of his promotion efforts has helped for this subgenre to grow and reach a much broader audience than it ever would have on their efforts alone. And his motivations for doing this was not for self gratification or 'fame', he has only started gigging over the last few months because the demand was there. For over a year he has helped push these artists out to thousands of people without any personal gain. The fact you 'guarantee' hes an amatuer myspace ripper who fronts like a dubstep god has no backing, only your own predisposition to anyone involved in the genre.
I mean, the fact you slam him for using youtube shows a lot of naivity. Do you not see how our consumption of media is changing over the last five years? How would you have grouped together to bitch about dubstep back in the day? Phoned up radio talk shows? I work in the advertising industry; and anyone from small time to huge, multi billion pound corporations recognise the power and communication opportunities that lie in social media. Youtube is a community, where information can be shared on levels that dwarf any opposition. Top recording artists use youtube to promote their music videos to their fanbase. Why is that unnacceptable when a promoter uses it to showcase new dubstep releases... or is it that a DJ has to produce to gain any respect?
Its pretty laughable the levels of pretention within this music community, its almost as bad as the metal crowd... Ryan is a cool guy, hes passionate about the music he loves and hes done something about it. The fact that now he gets to play alongside big names is because hes earnt that right and created the demand himself. I say fair play to him. Whether you like the music or not is your own opinion, but dont rip on a man based on the fact hes doing well for himself, and you're a little green about it.
Peace!
Oh, and to clarify, his account was suspended following a complaint from Sony, Borgores remix of Womanizer breaches copyright, and it was on his channel. All the artists he promote gave him the songs voluntarily.

Yup and thats the fucking story!
Re: Inspector Dubplates channel is deleted!!
Actually I think I might just do this. Lots of producers I know upload all their tunes own their own channels, a centralized location would help bring the music to more ears.rob sparx wrote:wish some kids would hurry up and bring on some decent and popular utube channels for deeper music to change this state of affairs
