They are bringing out another range that appears to be identical in shelf size, just a name change KALLAX and they may be switching up the colours.

it's 1cm shorter (the sidewalls are each 5mm thinner), but apparently they improved stability by using some sort of actual wood.
not a bad thing, tbh. the only thing that bothers me: it'll look a fair bit off if you want to combine the expedits with a new kallax...

Fuck! I'm planning to get one of those 4x4s as well
Fortunately I think the space I'm going to be using will just perfectly fit 2 of them side by side so if that ^ happens it'll just fall about 2 inchs into the wall.
edit; wait that one in the pic is 5x5.. they don't seem to do those anymore. Maybe thats why.

yeah that's a 5x5 and it's always them that you see those photos with
i was a bit pissed when they got rid of those with the kallax range but i assume this is why
i've got a couple of the new kallax btw and not got any complaints - they look better if anything

Nice one, I'm moving house end of this month so planning on converting the garage into a mini studio. I think 2 4x4 will fit along the back perfectly side by side so that's the plan. I might stick my 2x4s I have atm on top if its not too high.
