what's scary is that people think of these opinion shows as actual news and the sway that people like say glenn beck, bill oreilly, rush limbaugh, ann coulter etc who toss about hate speech, thinly veiled racism (or just blatent sometimes) are almost a sort of celebrity status among their fans who often see them as doing no wrong. hell my dad is one of them and it's like talking to a brick wall when it comes to talking about any issues they cover, and he's just like a tape recorder spewing back the same crap they say.
heaven forbid a NEWS channel actually presents unbiased facts and news and leaves it up to the viewer to form their own opinions, rather than hours of opinion and commentary shows to the public
