two things...

1) It seems the voting might need a reset if this is really as truly fucked as people are saying it is (which also sucks, because resets usually mean fewer people re-cast their vote);
2) there was an awful lot of confusion about deadline time - more than usual, anyway. Perhaps we should implement a simple javascript countdown clock in the first post so it's crystal clear for all.

I feel bad for Haack 'cuz putting all this together in the first place is a thankless task to begin with. :vader: :sofa: :mrt:

Totally kicking myself for not putting more time into mine now. Really happy with one aspect, but another is so crushingly bad it's embarrassing

Cheers, just voted.

Just a quick point - wouldn't it be better NOT to state who people voted for, so as not to influence others' decisions?

Congrats to all the guys that contributed, really great work and not a dud amongst them (ie no pointless tuneless 'wobblez') :4:

It already was reset!!

Once again I'm totally baffled by the way the voting has so far gone :\ At least the last tune is joint lead which is deserves but the real winner only has 3 votes O.o

BRIANCORE I like the intro, but it seems to be abit to quite. Not really felling the mid bass parts, sound a little thin, and dry. Also I don't really like the vocal sample. The mix could do with some more work could be more punchy, and full. Nothing in this track grips me. keep work at it though, I am not trying to put you off or down, just saying what I think.

CAIRO Love the vinyl sounds in the intro, and them drums you got are hard man. This is a great tune, PM if there is a 320 available :4:

DESENT Dark man, love how you used the vocal sample. This tune don't really grab me, fell there could be some sort of hook in their. Mix is pretty good, could do with a little more work, to get iit just right.

DOESN'T SOUND FUNNY Now that sploosh sound is great, love the e-piano, and the drums are great. I just love weird shit like this. Think the arrangment could do with a little work, like that sploosh is so great it should still be in the tune at the end imo.

EVOLUTION I don't know what you have done to your master, but it don't sound good to my ears, way to loud, and distorted for my liking. not sure on that harsh string, sounds a bit to loud. The glitch stuffs sounds pretty cheesy, not a big fan of the bassline at the end either. Think you should take what you got on the master off, and sort the mix out abit, and strip the arrangment back a bit, but that might just be me.

HEARTACH tbh this tune bored me up till the second drop, if this was my track, I would work on that first drop, or make the first drop the second drop, and then make a new second drop. Don't like the vocal sample just gets in the way, and annoys.

LOFI Did Burial enter this comp, only joking. Like what you did to the vocal, the beats cool. Sorry but I can't think of anything else to say... (might have a listen again, and leave some more feedback)

I got a head headache atm so will leave feedback for the rest later...

I am not trying to offend anyone with my feedback just being honest, and saying what I would do if it was my track. Just ignore it if you like, or rip in to my tracks if you like via PM, I like getting constructive feedback anyway, it beat "SICK" any day.

LOFI MIND I feel the drums could be a little bit louder, so they really punch. For the vibe of the track the bass sound to clean, and could be a little for dirty. Like a LP reese, or some saturation.

ON MY MIND I like what you got hear, but it don't sound finished. Sounds pretty empty, and could be filled out more. That vocal sample is grating on me, but it might be that I have heard it in so many track now, I do like what you did with it in the middle though.

OPTIMUM The intro, and the drop are good man. Like the synth(sample) that comes in a little after the drop. My only criticism is the bass is a little to loud, and the waveform shows that :cornlol: If their is a chance of getting a 320 PM me :4:

ORGANISM I love the melodic synth, and how you use the noise. Think the drums could hit a bit harder. 320 me??? ( I just came here to try get free20 :6: )

STAB AT IT No messing around with a intro with this one, did you do that, because its a comp, and you don't want people to get bored in the intro, or was you just think lets not mess around hear. Like the breaks, I think with a few arrangement tweaks, and a few mixdown tweaks, this track would be ill.

STATION 44 Drum & Bass time :corndance: Like it man even if you did enter the wrong comp LOL. The tune was felling like it need a switch when it did, but I don't think that was the right swicth. Key the keys could be pushed back a bit, and drums could do with some more weight, and the bass could be a little cleaner, and louder, but the mix ain't that bad, just think with a few tweaks it would be killer.

Ok my mind is fried again will do the rest later...

SUB LOVE Best use of the vocal so far maybe, but some thing about that sample pisses me off lol. I think their could be some more sub in this tune, so not sure how you got the title. The switch up in to the drum brake down bit in the middle was my favorite bit.

THE RETURN OF BUHDDAZBLADE Who made BUHDDAZBLADE again??? can't remember. Anyway I was not a fan of the first BUHDDAZBLADE, but this new one sounds better. Not sure on the bass, sounds a bit to fat, and loud. the vocal don't sound very in time, but I hate that vocal anyway :6:

WEST COAST BUMP I am not sure if your going for this lo-fi vibe, but I just love stuff that sounds like this, I collect casio's, and own 2 gameboy's btw lol. Don't like the bass-line that comes that comes in first takes away from that vibe, also the more it progressed the less I was feeling it, I was wanting some casio Vs gamboy madness, and I did not get it. If your not going for that sort of sound think you should work on it a bit, if you are then you need to refine it.

WITHIN Found it took to long to get going, it's pretty boring, till that little synth came in, but from a DJ point of view that intro would be great from mixing, and would just drop it when that bit comes in, so depends what you was trying to do with the intro. The vocal don't bug me in this one, not sure on the pitched down bits. After it got going it's a nice little track, and I can vibe to it.

WITHOUT YOU Intro is dope, I was thinking James Blake was going to start singing, and ruin though, but he didn't, that bloody vocal sample did again :u: The way you pitched it up made it even worst for me, you drop that sample, and this might be a ill track... I liked the first 45 seconds, and the break down.

So down to voting, I am going;

1 CAIRO
2 ORGANISM
3 OPTIMUM

None of them had that vocal sample :cornlol:

btw headaches is gone :D

It seems once again having nothing but bare drums and a sub bass is to win over more complex melodic ideas or production skills :\

Thoughts on some of the tracks:
BRAINCORE : Great athmosphere! Drums are a bit letdown though.
EVOLUTION: Like the first half of the song, kinda reminds me this one Kayne Wests track. But the fact that its too loud is ruining it for me, not a fan of the disortion.
HEARTACHE : Great movement. Not too keen about the melodic parts though.
LOFI MIND : Like it!
OPTIMUM : Drums dont have enough punch imo, overcompressed maybe. Otherwise great track.
WITHOUT YOU : Vocal sounds a bit random and kinda annoying, really liking the selection of sounds though, great production!

To be honest, only liked bits and pieces on most of the entries.

I Hope i have time to enter next comp.

Yup.. Wouldn't say something needs to be complex though or, even well produced, to win but I totally get where you're coming from

Mmm, there are some great ideas that don't quite stretch 100%. Hope the next sample pack is as juicy

Don't ask man, You would end up with a post 3 times the size of my feedback posts, with twice the grammer, and spelling mistakes.
