He should take some wrestling classes and take notice of a person's weight before he tries to pick them the fuck up too. Poor old Fat Albert.
Shouldn't be having squash matches against Albert anyway IMO, he was well on his way down the Umaga route of 'scary foreign monster heel', but actually with a decent moveset.
Having him buried by RyRy 2 weeks on the trot does no-one any favours.

Yeah, agreed. I actually quite like Tensai, but I guess they've bottled pushing him because of the Albert chants... seeing Ryback completely botch that finisher, then panic and finish dude off with a CLOTHESLINE was utter gash, especially if they're trying to make out like he's at world title level.
Ryback's actually nowhere near as big as all those squash matches made him look either. Albert looked like he could've bodied him when they squared up.
They should've given the brick-shithouse-monster push to Ezekiel Jackson about 3 years ago.
I'm not sure I really give a fuck about either of the HIAC matches.
In happier news, I fully approve of the Daniel Bryan and Kane push.

Agreed...though TBH if Wade Barrett's reappearance is anything to go by and they do reform Nexus, won't ol' Skippy get drafted back into that? Might do him some good to serve in an Arn Anderson role to Barrett's Flair, assuming Barrett is going to get a title run.

Blame Brian Kendrick...if he hadn't fucked up his solo push about they released Paul London, Jackson might've got something out of it instead of wearing prissy shirts and standing around scowling.

The idea of Big Show Sheamus is just retarded...Shemus' promo dig where he said that Daniel Bryan beat Big Show in 30s and Sheamus defeated Bryan in 17s was running scarily close to the insinuation...then again, maybe Sheamus will actually live up to his potential and put on a match that doesn't just involve him getting beat down and hitting the big boot.

Shame about the tournament though for their opposition, there are at least two worth teams in there (Prime Time Players and Rhodes/Sandow)...just hoping WWE don't wimp out and make it Mysterio and Mysterio Lite⢠facing them for the titles.

Ok, so maybe I'm kind of looking forward to Punk/Ryback. Kind of an oldschool monster title challenge but with the monster as the Face... I assume Punk will find a way to weasle a win... it'll be interesting to see Ryback have to pull out a main event length match...
In happier news, I fully approve of the Daniel Bryan and Kane push.
I still approve of this. Rhodes Scholars are proving excellent too.

I reckon Heyman will bring Brock in somehow, ends with a beatdown between brock and ryback as punk runs off or something.
I too am enjoying the newly reinvigorated tag teams, Hell No, Rhodes Scholars and the Prime Time Players are all really good in my eyes, PTP not as good as the first two mind.

Brock will need to get involved if they've got any sense. A win for Ryback and his rise won't seem legit, especially without a decent feud under his belt. If Punk wins, it'll kill Ryback's momentum dead. Lesnar is the only option to have Punk keep the belt and Ryback maintain his undefeated streak.

Oh fuck yes, Rhodes Scholars are spot on. TT division was shit for a long time, and now there are at least a half dozen teams (Rhodes Scholars, Prime Time Players, Kane & Bryan etc) who are actually putting together decent matches on the regular. They've even got a luchadore team, haven't had a decent little guys team since London & Kendrick waaaaaaay back.

now that they're all like actual people, reform original nexus minus the bald black guy who i dont think works anymore
would be beast
btw there's a guy who does really fun reviews of Raw every tuesday and i don't usually read this shit cus im not a nyerd and all wrestling writers are nyerdy arrogant weirdos, and i feel so ashamed of myself when i read them, but he doesn't take it so seriously and reading his write ups after is pretty much the only thing that keeps me watching at the moment, thought someone else might enjoy it http://www.withleather.com - Best and Worst of

The japenese PG era is really lame;
I miss the days when they would make the ropes barrbed wire, and set the ring on fire;
BRING BACK ATTITUDE ERA!!!
They should do this to tensai, seeing as he is japenese.

Some of those Big Japan or FMW matches were bordering on barbaric, I did use to mark out for them in my psycho ECW fanboy days.
But back to current wrestling, I believe things are looking up(not attitude era but at least better than PG era). Sure Ryback is being pushed, but his push was also partly because Cena got hurt, plus never bad to have a a monster face.....especially considering the supposed main face(Cena) gets booed mored then cheered lately. But Ziggler is getting the main event push he deserves, young guys like Sandow(love him) and Barret are getting pushed, and fresh faces like the Shield are not being misused like the Nexus were. Not to mention the lead up to Punk vs the Rock at the Rumble should be fantastic. These two are the best two people on the mic and should make for some amazing in ring promos. I just hope the wwe doesn't shit up the aftermath of the match with Cena getting another title match unless they change something up with his character(ie turn him heel).

I hate that barbed wire and blood shit, just sadistic horror movie shit for sociopaths.
Even worse when you consider wrestling presents itself as real. And it's actually probably really painful on the performers.
And the fact that nobody bleeds on WWE at the moment makes the times when it happens have more impact.
PS I can't be the only one who isn't looking forward o the rock again, all his promos and shit against cena were waste.

I was bored of The Rock in 2000 tbh... he'll never come close to topping the feud with Mankind, but I reckon him and Punk might work well off each other.
I can't quite see what they're going to do to pop the Ryback bubble... it needs popping eventually, he can't be invincible except for handicap matches forever.
Barbed wire was always a step too far for me. I've always kind of wanted to admire the commitment of those performers, especially people like Terry Funk, but I normally just end up feeling grimly sorry for them. It's just not worth it for such a fleeting form of entertainment... it's vey rare that somebody puts their life on the line like that and becomes a legend like Mick Foley did... and he can barely lift his limbs to crawl of bed in the morning nowadays.
TLC was brilliant.

Yeah TLC was really good, the 3 vs 3 TLC match was pretty "Attitude Era" wasn't it?
Also ^^ it's like that scene in The Wrestler, nobody wants to do that shit apart from the masochists, and it's even worse in those small "indy" promotions where nobody is watching.
But i still stand by the opinion that less blood means it makes a bigger impact, like when Cena vs Lesnar, he didn't bleed that much but it made the whole thing look brutal as fuck as a result of it being rare. It's not like they're still stopping matches to clean up like the did a while back.

Yes. This. Exactly. Gimmick matches of all kinds have been devalued over the last 15 years or so... they're supposed to be there as a last resort to sort out a feud and should be tied to the feud in someway... the original TLC matches were OTT because the participants were OTT (Dudleys were obsessed with Tables, Hardies and Edge/Christian with Ladders, Chairs makes it a snappy title)... I was pleasantly surprised with the 3v3, but really none of the people in it had any connection to Tables, Ladders or Chairs - the bookers could've been a bit more imaginative if they weren't shackled to the PPV. They shouldn't milk the format much more.
HIAC is completely ruined. There should be at least a 2 year gap between feuds hot enough to require the demonic structure... it's just another cage match now.
I remember looking forward to Hulk Hogan and Brutus Beefcake Vs Randy Savage and Zeus for MONTHS, maybe even an entire year before I managed to find a copy to watch. A cage/gimmick match isn't something to fill up the undercard on a Monday night show in Baton Rouge, it's supposed to be an event.
