Rza made his best beats when he sat in his basement for two years smoking dust and turned shit when he decided to become a "proper musician", whatever the fuck that means.

ketamine wrote:Ghostface Killa is garbage, along with the entire Wu Tang (sans Method Man). The beats always sounded like sh*t, the ****** can't rap on beat, and run on sentences talking about nothing. Even in highschool in 1998 I didn't listen to them. I was a Bone Thugs Fan. So I guess I like rappers that sing. Drake talks about girl problems, which is something we all can relate to, and not every rap song needs to be about street problems and how hard life is. There are other subjects out there like the nostalgia of being young and hanging out, and he covers that. Drake is a breath of fresh air and as far as I'm concerned, together, he & his producer 40 are the Jamie Woon / Burial of HipHop.

I know I stand alone. I don't care. YOLO

I agree about ghostface I think he's overrated.
Gza tho, is absolute class!

oh and I dont really get where you're coming from, practically every other artist talks shit about being young and partying all that bullshit and nonsense. Drake is whack as fuck.

btw the Grandmasters Remix album is fcking sweet.

DMX has always been a fraud. Who's afraid of a 5 foot 6 man from yonkers barking and growling? Outside of 15 year old suburban white kids, no one. His beef with Ja rule was the most contrived hysterically laughable hip hop beef ever. Fucking fraud

Same goes for Drake. Half black Canadian Jew. You really trying to go.hard Bruv? He has talent and has a great flow but he's a fucking clown.

At least Wayne came from the Hood and is real with what he's talking.about

Really please explain how a typo has grave implications on a board full of djs that are too young to know anything about.turntablism and the DMC outside of YouTube.... or if you're misspellings d.m.c.'s name this forums got about 50% whose first run DMC record was a dubstep sample

Think I'm good.given the fact I used the quote function

What's sad is people thinking dmx is an og. I've owned dogs that if stood up were larger than dmx. He's the Tom cruise of rap. Camera tricks and special effects to attempt to put him on the level of his peers

Didn't realise height was such an important factor in becoming a good rapper.

Does it really matter when you've got that voice? He's a rapper, not a fucking gangbanger. Are you really worried about which professional, millionaire musician is "realer" than another? It's awwwwll acting in order to make gangster sounding records... that's kind of what being a rapper's about. Johnny Cash didn't really shoot anyone in Folsom either, he just had a great voice for making records that made it sound like he did... and Denzel Washington's never been a crooked cop in case you were having trouble with Training Day.

I'd take X over most of his competition for that kind of smack-you-in-the-face rap... he was born for this shit. X is an OG in his game, but his game isn't gangbanging.... it's rap music.
