Im eagerly awaiting these mythical mixtapes aswell but then the white folk might get ahold of them and basterdize them so maybe its better they stay hidden..

Trap is a natural progression. Everyone in Hip Hop is so shit scared about sampling and getting slapped with a royalties suit that they've backed themselves into a corner where they can only use drum machines and synths to make their beats.

sorry i dont check every post on this forum..... the best example I can think of is Trakksounds - Intervention.... all relatively unknowns at the time. You can still buy beats from some of the producers for $150 on the internet lol.
Trakksounds himself still rocks it out of a bedroom on a setup probably the same as producers here and has tracks by HUGE artists
he did purple ninja turtle which is dopeeeeeeeee
G. Luck and B-Don from GLP were bedroom all-stars up until recently after they got bought up by waka and a few others
anywho if you dont get mixtapes in your area datpiff has tons and you can always just google ______ random city name mixtapes

much prefer those over predictable 808's and emphasis on high hats
you're relatively young so maybe you're not at 808 saturation but using 808's has come and gone and become a novelty in breaks, dubstep, drum and bass, and hip hop (probably 3 or 4 times now).
It's like dropping drowning remix in the USA, or playing free bird, or dropping papa new guinea in the UK. Yes you'll likely get a decent reaction out of it but does it really need to be done? It's all been done to exhaustion
I'm sure someone could make a couple tripplette variations, 2 notes of a bassline, some 808 kicks and snares and make a sound board with a "DAMN SON" sample and you could probably rock a set at hot topic. I'm not saying there's not some standouts, im saying those are few and far between and the shitty, borderline plagarism is pretty astounding.

i guess im just of the school that minimal with an 808 is a lot better than trying to complicate shit
imo is the best 808 tune ever made..... but then you listen to things like cajmere percolator and what he did with an 808 and then listen to formulaic shit around today. Or what Juan Atkins could get tone wise out of an 808 and then facepalm at some of this shit
