You treat "bro" as a dirty word that you associate with in such a way that it simply loses meaning and becomes "(aggressive) music I don't like" instead.
same with 'dungeon'. something only seems to become 'dungeon' as soon as somebody doesn't like it, it's such a meaningless term
Or when you think something is 'hipster music'. It's code for 'music that a lot of people like, but I can't get into... so THEY'RE WRONG'

I own the first album on vinyl. Tbh It's ok some decent tunes but it's fairly overrated in my eyes. Way too much simple looping with little tune progression for my tastes.
Most of the tunes aren't really even that aggressive. More dark and fairly minimal.

*edit - talking about distance, thread moved fast.

More dark and fucked up breakcore. No dumb weak ass bleel bloop nintendo noise shit with shitty attempts at programming a jazz drum solo with a Think break and 808 sounds. I'm talking shit that'll make you feel like someone just castrated you and fed your balls to a fucking dog right in front of you.

And not just dumb brutal for the sake of it. Just something genuinely sick and fucked up.

No brostep was a word coined to describe that specific shite listened to my "bros".

It's not even to do with aggression. In my eyes Dr P, skrillex or zomboys music isn't aggressive. It's just got this certain quality and style to it combined with this dick measuring attitude towards filthy drops.

Tear out could be used as a word to describe those distance tunes but brostep literally was invented as a derogatory word for a different sound that just happens to have been adopted by some of it's fans for real.

imo that tune i made doesn't sound like generic uk bass/deep house. If it does thats just my lack of production skill

edit: I can't really find a good example of what i mean, i just hear them played so much when im out.

Sorta like this but worse, and always with this sorta bass sound. Seems to be getting rinsed atm

I thought about him recently and.. it's not just me but all hype around all those "top dubstep producers" totally fizzled out didn't it? Von D, Geiom, Quest, Silkie, 2562.

Now everyone out here is either only talking about Skream/Hyperdub/DMZ/Deep Medi, or just music that isn't dubstep at all. But raw straight up dubstep has forst most part kind of disappeared.

I know all these producers are still kickin' it.. Silkie still released on Medi in 2011, so I knooow I'm kinda contradicting myself here, but.. it just ain't the same.

Well a lot of them stopped making dubstep and focused on house/techno for starters.
I mean hell back in 05-06 you had people who had disappeared from DnB pop up making sick dubstep and then vanishing again like Juju, Skynet, Tech Itch. I think the only one out of those three who popped up back on the radar again is Tech Itch and he's finally making DnB again.
