some of you seem to work at really rapid rates, going through 20 different effect chains and 5 tunes a day and shit... it takes me a good 10 days to finish 1 tune lol. I do deliberately space out my production quite a bit to a few hours a day though, I find myself a lot more productive that way even if it means longer time needed to finish tunes

World or Warcraft used to be more important than making music.

10 years of learning music and I still can't write a decent tune.

Sometimes I just get into a groove and I've become fast enough with my daw and familiar enough with certain effects to where I don't get slowed down by technical stuff and I don't waste time doing minor tweaks. I have enough control over the sounds so that I don't get myself stuck when in a creative flow. That's why I'm reluctant to learn or use another daw. When I'm in renoise, it's like I have everything at my waist, ready to draw from a tool belt. When I'm in reaper, I it's like I have to walk back to a toolbox to grab what I need. I'm not knocking reaper though; I've seen some people who do some next level editing with it.
Also the tempo can make a difference

I was shit faced at a party one time and every there kind of knew that I produced "dubstep" and stuff like that, and these girls asked me about it and i told them I was going to university for sound design.
shit was so cash
oh and it pisses me off to no end when people are like "oh you produce music? thats sick, i rap" and then usually go on to ask if i would make them so dope beatz to "spit" to.
Rapping on a small scale, if you don't have a story or any reason to rap is a lazy, unmotivated, usually stoners excuse to label themselves as a musical person. fucking white people

I tire of tracks so quickly that a good proportion of my tracks end up as 8Bar.

I've been lurking for ages because I couldn't be arsed to sign up and join in. On that note, hello.
2) I'm lazy at sound design. I sit on a synth, twat about for a bit and unless I hit something interesting, I get frustrated and quit. I'll work on that.

I let drama with women distract me from being productive in music :\
