Yupp certainly is, out of ableton live, reaper and fl studio ableton is definutely my favourite

Native instruments have given me a 25 euro voucher, hmm could get the finger for £40 i know its effectb but we can still c have it in this forum since it runs with reactor and reactor player, dw i'm still getting ableton but £40 isn't a bad offer for the finger anyone used it or the mouth ut i'm more interested in the finger

Jesus Christ, this is feature packed to a disgusting degree. This'll either be my favorite synth ever, or just too damn much for me.

Its just gladitor 2 with a different interface, everything is more or less the same

Don`t forget you can use your own samples.
This makes it more like Alchemy.
Tone 2 make good products though so It`ll be great.
the demo has some awesomeness to it.

I recently found a package of free synths called "Itchy Synths Overdose Suite". They are really nice for beginners such as myself because they are pretty simple to use, and they are geared toward dubstep. Check them out! I used them for all the basses on this track.Soundcloud

I am not asking for comments on the track, it's just there so people can hear the synths. They are surely capable of more than I am.

I haven't read through all 9 pages of this thread, but I plan to start making electronic music soon (been playing guitar for 5 years) and I'm going to buy massive and the most basic ableton package. I assume that I'll need to buy another package than massive to get a good range of synths? or would massive suffice? also, would ableton or massive have drums?

I'd recommend that you purchase u-he Zebra 2 over Massive. It will take you longer to learn, but you'll be thankful once you've learnt how to use it. Massive come with pre-made wavetables - So does Zebra, but you can also draw your own. Its onboard fx are a lot better than massive, and it has a range of very nice filters with neat additions. So, if your serious about making original sounding music - go for Zebra 2.

Yo spliff, if you don't know anything about synthesis though, Massive is a great place to start. Just perfectly laid out user interface for subtractive... I 95% of the time use the basic waveforms anywayz. Zebra 2 is like the don of synths though. Hellsuv flexible and sounds GREAT! FACT. Daunting to start with though...

last year i worked hard and made a synth with literally all those features (currently working on PWM on waveforms which is very difficult + i haven't implemented osc sync)
its capable of many sounds quite easy since its uses 6 wave draw oscillators and you can randomise different sections of the synth which makes it even quicker to get variations of the same sound.. however although im able to put a serial code lock on it iv been worried of releasing it because its not something i would put out for free since i make my signature sounds with it (soundwise it sounds like a cross between sytrus and massive) wish i knew a way of making it public without it getting download raped

Nice one! just confused by the end part... "wish i knew a way of making it public without it getting download raped.." isnt that the point of making it public, or do you intend to sell it? in which case contact a developer (but no protection will last very long) .. And also surly your .sig sound can be made in other synths, right?
Maybe setup a limited download page,, but then your gambling that none of the first downloaders dont upload it.

what i meant was i dont want my hard work to get cracked by assigned or air since i would intend to sell it
i might head to kvraudio and ask advice there
i think my only choice is to make a cut down version with less oscillators & put it out for free (since i have never released anything before) then whoever likes it would have the choice to buy a full version later.
also i can kinda make some of my signature sounds in massive as long as i add more fx after but i prefer doing it in my own synth since its quicker for me using FM etc and wavedrawing
also iv never liked the idea of randomising everything thats why iv allowed the user to select whatever knob/knobs they want to randomise (not all knobs but mainly the FM matrix so far) just to gain variations of the same sound in an instant. to completely finish my synth i want to add the randomise feature to the wavedrawable oscillators and add proper PWM.

it is practically impossible to not have it cracked, although personally i'd take it as a compliment if team air bothered to crack my plugin not that that gives any comfort to lost sales. there's that new steam-esque type thing for plugins, plugin alliance i think it's called which is supposed to help curb cracking but i've seen those plugs cracked too.

i think all you can do is accept that if you release it then it will get cracked eventually, if you could pay for synchrosoft-type protection then it probably wouldn't get cracked but sure that would cost you more than you'd ever get in plugin sales.

The people who crack your plugins, were never going to buy it in the first place. So don't worry about loosing sales through cracks because your true customer base will buy it. Getting your plugins cracked proberbly leads to more sales.. If people really like it and can afford it, they'll pay.

And if it is any good, some of those that use the crack will buy it. 4 realz.
