Personally, I feel that alot of this 'dungeon' sound is getting over-done. People are just copying eachother and not really shaping their own kind of sound. That's why producers like Killawatt, TMSV, Matt-U, Sleeper and District, Biome etc. are all getting alot more recognition than other artists who seem to be making the same music as everybody else. I feel it is very vital for people to push and make their own sound rather than copy others. If all these new producers just make the same music as the next guy, the sound could evidentally kill itself. Now, I am not saying do not take insperation from other artists' work, I am simply saying that you need not create a generic 'dungeon' sounding tune without pushing yourself to your own sound first.

That's just my opinion, though. Make of it what you will.

not enough people are admitting this. so many bandwagoners on this sound as of this year. not saying it hasn't resulted in some new great producers (Biome, Thelem, Sleeper, District to name a few), but it's definitely becoming formulaic. that said, i enjoy the hell out of it when it's done right. the greats (Kenzo, TMSV, KMinds) will continue to bring fresh percussion and syncopation, while the copycats will come off as what they are: bland

even that Percept tune that ppl seem to be gushing over is vanilla. it doesn't have the flex of District's "Haymaker" the percussive ingenuity of Kenzo's "Ruffhouse," or the step of SP's "Hunted"

Its because youngsta only plays a certain type of music, what he wants to hear exactly. Thats why so many people are making samey, generic tracks noadays. I still think theres some great music being produced though. TMSV, SP & LXone have definately got a gold touch when it comes to producing. A lot of 'dungeon' tracks just dont have any energy anymore and sound like there going nowhere. Inb4 raging youngsta fanboys.
