any feedback on my newest creation? This laptop makes the trebble hurt my ears, it sounds washed out but on the stereo it sounds fine. Thats a loaded synth for ya.

Hey guys, gonna try out one more work in progress with you guys...this is by no means true dubstep but I guess it takes some elements of it. I have no idea what genre this falls into but i hope someone out there knows where i'm coming from with this one...i think it bangs pretty hard, just turn it up loud!

@bert and ernie: Not sure what you mean by true dubstep but I dig what you're working on. Nice vibes.

@paradigm: I like that last one you posted. I'm not much for technical critique or whatever but the mix sounds like it needs a little work. Drums could be a bit punchier in the mix.

Anyway, here is something I started working on just recently. Just wondering if anyone is feeling it. Mix I'm sure is a mess and all that, haven't gotten to that stage yet at all.

Biscuit cool little chilled mix you have there, a little out of my depth as i dont listen to much of this stuff.
but to me it sounds pretty good.

paradigm001 i like your ideas at the start, however i think it could use less verb in my opinion. sounds a little to washed out for me.
The middle is pretty kewl too, keep up the good work. liking that bass tone! overall mix i cant really comment on as im useing headphones.


I made these two mixes, i mixed them both on headphones as im on the road and have no access to a decent pair of monitors. so excuse the shitty mix.
These are pretty much ideas in the making and im changing them when ever i get the chance really.
If you can share your thoughts it would be greatly appreciated

@connie3456: Kind of drags on in the beginning, but I love when the midrange gets delayed. Snare needs a little top-end. I do like your melody, though. Pretty mellow, like your bass. I dig.

@hecticz: Brutal. Like the release on the snare; really artificial and unique. Have nothing else to say.

@johnny666: Everything I have to address concerns mixing (snare presence, noise issues); as you've acknowledged you aren't able to work on that at this point, I've got naught to say.

@Biscuit: Not feeling it; sorry, mate. I do like where the track goes at 1:23, though. From that point on, it seems like pretty proper.

@bert and ernie: I can see where this is influenced, but I sare say you have something rather unique here. Love the pitch-bent synths. Percussion seems a little unclear, though. The individual hits aren't very distinct, and the snare almost sounds like a clap or 8-bit. 2:07 is gold, though, as is the ending section. Keep calm.

I don't have anything to put up at this point; I'm just giving feedback. Carry on!

wizeguy its a nice flowin tune you have there, like those sidechained pads. The trebble is a little much maybee, but everything on this laptop sounds treblly so Ignore that, haha.

Connie on your tune I think that main drone synth needs to be attenuated at a certain frequency., It was getting resinous. I think this tune is a learning lesson for you and I cant wait to hear what better ideas you have for some new tunes. Im just not diggin the melody of the bass.

hecticz, you have great ideas the snare is just shit though sorry. You need a new snare or eq that fucker. Bassically I think you should just concentrate on eqing now, everything else sounds good though,

@nine - kicks a bit dry, especially when its exposed on its own. drop could sound better with more treble. the synth sounds a bit low passed, and theres not much going on with hats. sub could do with more modulation in the intro. i just read back that, it all sounds harsh, but i like the tune. i was just thinking of things i would change. i really like the breakdown thing. especially those filtered drums.

@wizeguy - really like it once it got to the drop. the intro was a bit boring. not much changes in the 2nd half of the intro. add some atmospheric stuff? ha, love the little wobble. starts to get a bit boring after a while. i think just add some incidental stuff (like the wobble, but less often you know? to make it sound less like a loop). or maybe have an actual progression in the bass line. i like your kick a lot btw.

@johnny - feel the drop comes a bit out of the blue you know? i know theres that kick and tom roll, but it sort of just melts into one big noise. also, the kick pattern coming out of the first heavy section threw me off a bit. literally just the first bar or something, after that it was fine. also, that synth in the second heavy bit (the one that sounds like a dogs bark) gets a bit repetitive, jsut a lil bit of modulation? i totally started listening to this thinking shit, but its weirdly catchy. i cant really tell, but does it go like double time at the end? if it doesnt, it sounds like it does, and i like it.

@samkablaam - cheers, yea i hear ya brudda. your tracks nice man wouldn't change anything i listened to all your stuff and that was my favourite, 1.14 is deeeep!

@Hecticz : Can't hear your snare, EQ it maybe ? Love vocals on it and hats too !

@ samkablaam : Nice chilled tune, but a light compression on your sub would make it a bit louder

@ johnny666 : Everything looks distorted, maybe it sounds good in your headphones but not in mine ! Did you do your mix with a limiter ? If not, is it clipping ? Your 2nd track is way better to my ears !

@ biscuit : Pretty good track, mixdown is ok. Work your intro a bit more !

Here's mine now. Worked on it a couple of days, I still have to improve mixdown and add a few variations but i can't wait sharing it to know what's fine or not :p
