Growl sounds good, whatever noise you have with it is bad.

they are both made with 3 layers of massive and the reese is double EQ modulated but the growl is only 1. i made them both in FL 11

Ok. Still kind of confused because its all one patch, but I think you are talking about when it gets up to a really high e? Kind of sounds like a guitar "wah" pedal at those points.

Its all massive, I don't really have any external effects on it. There is a saturator on the first growl part but it sounds pretty much the same without it. The vocal aspect is all just with the filters in massive, the wavetables aren't modulated.

What wavetables did you use? Crude/Carbon as per?

I'm saying the random blips and beat in the background, just cut that out and post the growl by itself, cuz that made it sound terrible, but if it was just the growl on its own I could see it being ok in a different setting.

HEYYYY, that "bounce" sample is from a Black Octopus Sound sample pack, right? "Orgasmic Glitch Hop"? ;-)
Sounds cool anyway, how did you make it?

haha ya i got the free sample of the sample pack and the bounce vocal was in there, i really like it, but onto the growls, they are all made in massive, using Eq's, audio filters some WoW filters and other stuff with a nice amount of modulation in there, i'm still pretty new to FM these are my first FM growls in ableton

This was something I tried making for fun for that bun dem remix competition, never finished it. I was trying to improve the growl, not all of the modulation sounds good, alot of it seemed to dry and harsh. I cut out the modulation things that I did like and put them at the very beginning. It also sucked because the phase of the oscillators was always creating a resonant frequency that I couldn't get rid of (which causes it to clash with the song), changing the phases never got rid of it, only changed the frequency.

Heres that other song without anything else, and some shit at the beginning

The only growly sounds I can make are based off of "yaeyaeyaeyae" sounds, having trouble getting more guttural stuff.

This song has two growls in it that I made. They are both made in FM8. The sound that comes out of FM8 is pretty lame but my FX chain is insanely long. Let me know what you think and ill answer any questions.

Wow, some really excellent sound design in hear. Def waiting for some explanations so I can help push the sounds in a different direction.

Also here is a WIP with what you might call a growl in it if anyone wants to know how to make it. It comes in on the second drop after the breakdown.

Critique of this WIP would also be appreciated.
