Just a friendly note:

The general rule for this thread is to review 3 other folks tracks (be constructive, that's the point - so folks can learn) before posting your own track for feedback. This is the only way this thread will actually work and make it helpful.

Please feel free to quote and repost this every few pages as a reminder to our newer members.

Loving the intro, especially the empty sub bass space between the drum buildup and the drop. The one thing I'd say to work on is adding some punch to the bassline after the drop, the buildup seems bigger than the bass it drops to.

Cheers

Not bad, I like the hi pitched sample and some of the delay work. Can't really tell what part of the track that is, intro, middle? Keep it up!

Now here's my latest work in progress, got about 81 bars there, lemme know what you guys think.

EDIT: Soundcloud doesn't seem to be working, so here's the track on speedyshare.

@Dj Accel - I like the bass noise, maybe throw some different percussion in there, like the voice sample too

Anyone else who wants feedback, leave some crit for mine first

This is my track, looking for some feedback on it before I play it out on Friday, I'd say it's more influenced by metal than anything else, I'm going with the melodic piano thing again with that sub underneath, much darker than other recent stuff though

Liking this one, but djaccel is right, the build up is bigger than the drop. maybe some drum variation after the drop too. But all in all it's good imo. :)

what program do you use?
the kick for one seems a bit too high pitched - try more sub,
the beat and bassline gets a bit repetitive in my opinion, try adding a few more hats to it, or putting the bassline in a different key.
but anyway this is what i would do its up to you - different tastes and whatnot :e:

I like it, from a mix point of view I'd say that sub sounds nice through speakers that don't have enough low end.

I'm guessin though that once that gets played through something with a decent enough subwoofer, you're gonna find it awfully hard to hear anything but bass,

soundcloud is messing me about today so I upped my track here, about 20 second of silence at the start and cuts out right before the end but yeah, it's the song that matters here

I'm really quite liking that. Love the Piano. But like someone else said maybe the sub will drown everything else out when it's played out. Could be wrong. Overall I like it :).

I'd like some feedback from someone on this please. First attempt at a vocal track. Still alot of work to do, so keep that in mind.

Easy lowpass, whats good man hows its going? i seen this on sound cloud and decided to try find it on DSF

I see your on the distance piano sound again!, you cant leave them along they are too good :D always have to be used !
nice track, good vibe to it, good use of delay and reverb and its even got a wobble in it ! Great variation into the 2nd drop.

crit= need one more element i think, not a full on riff, just something that play between certain bars, ie a sax stab..?
Other then one not really much to say... just maybe need one more element other then that its quite good. it should sound good when it played out, after everything is done

btw this is not your final mix down right?

Cheers man there was actually another mix that I uploaded which sounds a little cleaner but no not the final product, I can't stop using those pianos no lol nearly added an electric guitar too for the full distance rip-off haha. You're right there is an element missing which is why I came here, I just can't work it out. Maybe I could try a sax stab or something like you said in there see how it works.

@ Bradicle - mate that made me laugh, you're on about my crit for someone elses track, but yeah the sub was too overpowering, I've lowered it in recent mixes I've done of the track. I like your track mate, I think the rises are a little overdone, I think maybe either reduce them or just use a couple of different ones, deep track though.

LOL my bad. Knew what one I was talking about :P.

Thanks alot for that. Will chop up the rises, just put different ones in. Definitely see what you mean though. Is my first vocal track. I'm feeling there needs something done to the vocal to sit in the track alot more. Cant figure out what.

I like the repeating synth but the drums could work a little better to accentuate how crazy it is - perhaps a snare that hits harder?

Loving the piano melody - obviously a very intelligent tune. I did expect it to go mental at some point though, and it never did - but that's a matter of opinion. I do really like the little wubwubwub after the first drop

At some points, your tune reminded me a little of kryptic minds - quite unique. I like it best when the deep toms kick in, in the third part. To be honest, I'm not such a fan of the vocal/speech synth thing. I would fuck around with the sound a lot more

Could I get a little criticism for the track i'm working on? I'm using FL8 if anyone's interested.Soundcloud

Feeling the joker-ish bass. nice nd funky, sub comes through well but not sure about the snare seems like it could do with a bit more snap? could just be your idea for the song. Also might be a lack of top end overall but thats just personal oppinion.

couldnt really feel much bass in the track could possibly do with a bit more sub also the snare seems a little flat and low down in the mix might do with a bit more reverb or summin
