@Geddupnoise : Cool set-up, the sub bass is a little loud I think, the second wooble bass is sick. I don't really like the first wooble bass, try to work on it maybe! But it definetly have potential.

@crakasteven - Sweet vibe bro, almost reminds me of a ghost train or something! pretty nice sounds you've got going on too dude, good work
my advice would to be to get a little more low end in and i think some samples from something like a ghost train would be jokes! Nice work:)

@BenJonesLikeWhoa - I'd suggest some work on your drums, you need a bigger kick and a much bigger snare to get the right feel on that. Plus, vary your hats a bit more they're sounding very machine-like.
Some pretty good synth work in there, maybe revisit some of them so they fit each other a little better, but that's all good and those lasery sounds are really taking up a lot of room but i guess that'll change when you come to mixing it. good start!:)

@NorCoDubstep - Big tune there mate, really feeling it. The sample was really good! Not really sure what to suggest, pretty sure you've got it covered! Just keep doing what you're doing:)

Geddupnoise- I like the vibe of the intro, very dark. maybe alternate the hat rhythm you bring in first, not really feeling it. also the drops an anticlimax really, so maybe have a bar or so of silence before bringing the bass in. work on your bass sound as well, sounds a bit over simplistic. good effort otherwise mate.

tehef9drm- nice synth sounds in the intro, creates the atmosphere very well. the elements you bring in work together well as well. after the drop make your midrange louder, and turn the sub up a bit to give it some more weight and presence. nice variation in your bass, drums seem alright. the whole mix just sounds a bit weak though, unless thats because your mixing it down to be mastered in which case ignore that point.

JLproductions- Loving the intro mate, some really good interesting sounds used. nice after the drop as well, my kind of dubstep haha, maybe turn the sub up slightly.everything sounds good, dont really know what else to say pal, good work!

Heres my latest , almost finished just some more sounds to put in and maybe risers -

@Cheeky : Wow really cool track, love the african drum (if I can call it like that) I heard it with my phone so I can't tell if the bass is cool :/ Wooble is interesting, sound like old skream. The piano fit perfectly and I like the way you bring it into the track.

I'm working on a new mixdown again, maybe adding some new elements too.

@ nftfhx -Loving the rushy feel to the vocals, spacing is really nice. Beat sounds right, Flux Pav lead is good. Bass/Sub might need a bit more work IMO. The thing which iwsnt working for me is the revolving synth note which plays most of the way through. It feels a bit flat to me maybe try a switch up with another preset. Feels like it all seems right at 2.40, the other synth is crowding thing a bit, I'd try something a bit wider less mono. Very good

@ Cheeeky. The intro needs a USP something individual/original, maybe a vocal or a sample. That kick is out of this world... Fu*king SICK!!! I think the piano sample could be better theres alot of pianos aout there to chooce from. Very good.

I wacked this together last night. The intro is too long the vocals aren't gonna stay just messing around with them. I'm not quite sure but it feels to me like the timing isn't quite right with the beat. I might try using the flex time tool in logic to change things a bit especially with the percussion. Any thoughts would be mucch appreciated.

@DREAMTHEIF: That vocal sample is weeeiiiirrrdddd. It creeped me out big time o_O. I thought the drums in the beginning until 1:24 were robotic sounding which makes it sound amatuer. Other than that I like the impact of the drums after that part so it's alright.

@CHEEKY: I like that piano, what did you use? That wobble is basic, but it's really powerful. It's full. Needs more sub bass under it though, or maybe it's just my headphones. Oh, take off some of the high end like a decibel or two off the very high end, it's kind of annoying and flabby, idk. Otherwise it's tight.

@GEDDUPNOISE: Holy shit that intro is piercing. Fix that shit. Lower the highs/high mids. The wobble sounds out of space with everything else, it just doesn't sit right. That synth that comes in at 1:16 is quite ametuer-ish, idk how you want to fix that or if you want to at all, I'm just sayin. Maybe you want it to sound like that. All I can really say.

So yeah, I just made a loop last night out of random. Was just having nothing else to do at 3 AM. But I don't want FB on the loop itself, I want FB on my first attempt at self mastering. I just EQ'd and compressed the master mildly and this is what I got. Before and after:

AHHH was wondering what the hell you were talking about until I opened my project file and saw I rendered the track with one of my bass synths switched off. :x
Also, I would love for you to point out where the bass sounds as if its out of time? Are you listening to it in mono?

Moreover, feedback from more than one person would be cool. 8)

Weedcali, give feedback to at least 3 people and then you can post your track.

@weedcali like the intro and then the swingey vibe of the drums. Don't really have anything I think should be changed.

@atticuh the piano needs some reverb maybe lowpass too. and are you automating the tempo?

@ChadDub Sounds good to me, is this using the same template thingy as you sent me over aim today?

@DreamThief I like it the drums sound cool to me but I can't figure out why!!!

Here's a complete accident of a WIP. What I did was listen to a recent WIP and realized it sounded kinda similar to an old hiphop beat so I stacked them ontop of eachother. Didnt do anything else from that so was hoping I could get feedback on the idea and see whether you guys think I should go further with this. Obviously, it would need some cleaning up to do.
Soundcloud
EDIT: As rando pointed out, my WIP sounded too much like an existing track by Flux  didnt realize how similar they were

@JRISREAL: I've already told you how tight it is over AIM. And yes, that is using the same preset/template I sent you.

@DreamThief.. interesting sample, not sure what to make of that. didn't really pick up on anyhting till near the end of that clip, i like the perc you have going, but the bass isn't right for me. i like the drums. keep them the way they are.

@weedcali.. enjoying this intro.. weighty. like the clap/snare.. and the vocal sample haha. nice arp incoming.... feeling this.. although not sure about the wobble bass (that's just me though) overall this is a good sound. also enjoying the reversed rumbles. big up.

@cheeky.. bass / delayed claps remind me of coki. not a bad thing.. im liking this.. maybe a pad in this piano breakdown to fill it out.. give more feeling etc. 2nd drop bassline is heavy.. i like the congas as well.

heres what i started last.. excuse the quality, either it's soundcloud or my soundcard. having trouble with drivers and shit. barebones at the mo..

Here's something I've been fiddling with, I am thinking of getting a buddy of mine to get some rap laid down for it in the bit where it seems to drop down. Comments welcome.

weedcali very nice chilled vibe gives me the urge to skin one up. Very nice and deep and thoughtful. Cool vocal sample the Beat could be bigger IMO

jrisreal the answer synth is awesome, still in early stages Piano is a nice melody but doesn't quite fit

ascent the spacing on the bass doesn't quite feel right liking the dark vibe very hypnotic

Here's something just for fun really...

yo!
thanks for the feedback dude, I don't actually have a sub so i'm just trying to trust my theory on getting the notes right so maybe i'll have to get hold of one and have a play
the last month my synthesis has really improved so maybe i will revisit that part, although this was the 3rd time in a year i've uploaded it hah
i'll try get a bigger stereo feel too man, thanks again!

Really cool feel to your beat man, just the right sort of thing for the sample! It drags a little though, so maybe bring in some cool FX every now and then to keep things changing but otherwise it's good:)

I didn't really want to upload this with it being a comp and all but i thought i might as well and see what the feedbacks like before i finish it
It's pretty much done, i'm going to give it some variation, a proper mix and the cough sample will probably be removed
oh and the very last sample is out of time, i'll move it when i finish it but i didn't think it was worth printing again just for that

jrisreal, The piano could probably use a boost in the higher register, unless you were going for a vintage/analogue sound. then I would suggest a subtle vinyl sound behind it. The bass isnt really my cup-o-tea so I cant really tell you much there.

Ascent, Love the intro. The deep sub fits the track very well. After a few measures it gets a bit repetative. try adding a new element every measure or so.

Dream Theif, I like the sample, its funny. The drum and bass combination reminds me of a Benga tune. I feel, however, I was waiting for a nice fat drop but never really got one. work on it though ;)

Figure I'll repost since I posted feedback.

Hi passed the piano and I slowly increase the bpm to the dnb drop. 8) Also added reverb to the piano, fixed the signal flow of some fx chains, and slightly self-mastered with a LP EQ, gentle compression, and a limiter. ALso cleaned up the mix so that the hats come out better. Also the low end is much more prominent now.

Feedback posted to SoundCloud's 8) DreamThief, deafblindmusic, and nftfhx
Ill post more feedback to more people's tunes after I get back from work.

good good sounds much better. however the shortness on the piano notes makes it sound too electronic for my tastes, maybe try and lengthen them up so they kinda flow into eachother.

@weedcali Mate, this is a really deep track... sounds great on my speakers, can't really point anything on to improve on... maybe the kick could be a littler louder? Eq or sidechain other elements to make it stand out more. PM me when it's done, it would love to chuck it in a mix ;)

@nftfhx Got myself a competitor! I think it sounds a bit messy imo, I think you might need to cut out some low frequencies in the drop (the main bass) just so the muddiness is reduced... maybe. Pretty nice remix though, it stays true to the original (unlike mine lol).

@deafblind Really nice sounds coming out from this track, really feeling it. Everything cuts through so nicely, so big ups on the mixing as well. It's one of those tracks which you just nod your head to at a club... liking it. I think the snare could cut through a bit more though, how many snares have you layered on it? That might be an issue, the transients might just be cancelling each other out by the look of things, either change up some snare samples or chuck a transient shaper on and your good. :)

Here's my wip, the intro is a piece of shit and sub needs to be added... still working on it. Once again another subvibe fusion remix, but it's really just a stolen sample on some dnb beats...
Tried some more neurofunk. Feedback on levels would be great. peace
