Yup, plus I actually want to watch the movie, hate interruptions by people with no attention span.Reese Liar wrote:^^^ Exactly. Might be cheaper to watch it at home, but to me there's still something special about being fully immersed in a film, sitting in a dark room watching a big screen with awesome sound. Unless you're super rich you just can't get that feeling at home imo.

Pre-drinking at the cinema before going out is standard.NilsFG wrote:Who still goes to the theater anyways? Way cheaper to rent a movie using digital TV or download one.
Also more fun because you can make jokes with your friends and can get drunk.

This should be in the Happy thread but...
Got offered a job that I really really want (on paper). But the salary they're offering is a lot less than my previous job (£6.5k less, to be precise). I'd also need to move but the relocation help they are offering is practically negligible. I would also need to get a car to get to work, which would be extra expenditure I'm not used to. They have said though that there's massive room to expand career-wise, which I agree with.
Question for Bristol ninjas: how cheap is living in Bristol compared to living in London? As I'd most likely move there and commute.
Weighing up against this is another job that'll pay me about the same as before (more if I take bonuses into account) and has a generous relocation package.
Sigh. Decisions, decisions.
Oh and I'm going for another 2nd round interview in a couple hours.

Bristol's cheaper, but it's not cheap... you're still very much in the prosperous South and there's a big old middle class there. There's a shitload of student standard accomodation around though what with Bristol Uni and UWE... and, if you wanted to, you'd probably find a pretty nice place to buy if you were selling up in Letchworth.kay wrote:This should be in the Happy thread but...

The suburbs/countryside is cheaper, but you'd need to make sure you had a car. Public transport is nothing compared to London!
It's a lovely area of the world to live though.
Where's the job based?
