@darkdubz
your intro sounds like a cross between Cyrus and Datsik, got the darker vibes with the big lead and 'Brick Top' sample. Not usually a massive fan of this kinda dubstep but you kept it dark so im feelin it.
@jrisreal
Not a fan of this sound but from a production point of view, i like the arp in the intro as well as the melody on the drop, the dub stab fitted well but it was a little muddy in the mix compared to your other sounds, maybe add a little high to it?
@oprs
Lovin it, that is the kind of tune that really goes off in a rave ! Only thing i would say, but of course this is personal preferance, the panned shakers seem a touch too loud or maybe just need some more reverb, but then again im very picky with panned percussion
Heres my track, no EQ, compression or levels have been attempted yet so just try to feedback on the composition itself

@dreamthief i feel the kinda wierd atmosphere and the uk funky groove but i would shorten the long intro a little bit
@mexicankangoroo love the ambient sounds in the intro but maybe start earlier with some drums just for the attention; really nice bass and drum interaction you got going love the short breaks just bring the levels up after mixing and i think it will be a banger
@atticuh like the melody but have to agree thats its missing deepness maybe try bouncing the whole loop reverse it reverb reverse again, i think would be intense but than it wouldnt work with the second half so its hard to tell i personaly would go for a chilled melody based tune without the speedchange.
@weedcali really fel it love the deep arppegiator stepping in brings so much to the groove
"mixed" it with cheap in ears so please dont be to hard on the overall mixdown Soundcloud

@BudSpencertron pretty cool melody, like that trancy arp, the song evolves nicely good job
@Downfall dark and minimal, really love that piano sound
@DreamThief nice melody and percussion, but i can`t say i like those screaming samples
Been working on a generic brostep track lately lol with lots of wub, check it out:

@ MexicanKangaroo Thank you for the feedback! Oddly this is more feedback than I got in 3 years on DOA for anything I'd ever written - so you've won a prize! I agree with you on the snare, it's a single hit right now, I am going to layer another in there and get it to gel. EQ will help too for sure.
Feeling your neuro track too, although the intro takes a lonnnng time The only other input I'd give is the snare needs just a titch more sparkle.
I'll get back to reviewing the other WIP's on here soon.
Cheers,

cyrkonesis- sick name lol, but the tune, like you said generic bro. kick snare wub wub. got a decent rhythm to it though, ive heard a lot worse lately.
budspencer- great fucking intro. love what it drops into. bass is nice too. percussion is real nice, i like the vibe im getting off this, maybe high pass the hats just a little bit to set them back? i really would like a copy of this when its done.
downfall- damn, is all i have to say. there is a hat or something that hits in the middle and i swear the shit pans on each side giving it an outward effect. i can tell you got some time in this percussion and i can tell you it mad worth it, im really diggin this sound right now. its dungeonesque with flair man, keep that shit up.
something i might finish i might not, im not sure yet. Soundcloud

first time posting in this thread, let's see if i'm doing it right...
@cryokinesis - haha, nice big sound going on, for sure! bass is real nasty and the variations are done well - definitely keeping it interesting throughout. my only nitpick would be to maybe add a little variety to that high-pitched cymbal (i think it's a ride? not sure...), as it sounds like it's on the same pattern for most of the tune so far. enjoyed it, though!
@BudSpencertron - really chill tune. i like the lead sound and the overall atmosphere a lot. drums are sounding real solid, too. i like when you bring in some new sounds and start manipulating stuff around 2:15, and i'd actually say you could even start doing some of that stuff earlier maybe, to add some spice to things. but it's coming along really nicely.
@Downfall - serious vibes on this one. that piano is sounding great and the distant feel of the fx and drum hits is working really nicely. i think if you just keep riding the mood on this you'll end up somewhere good by the end.
@oprs - that intro/build is really nice. the groove feels good - definitely want to hear where you take this one. i would bring some of the hats down a little bit in the mix, but that's just me.
any feedback on this tune would be super appreciated, but some tips on the mixing/production would be especially helpful. volume is still really low (have to figure out a fix to that) but it sounds a bit harsh to my ears at the moment. any pointers on how to fix the mix in general and maybe get a bit of a warmer sound to the track overall would be great...thanks! @downfall - I dig it, it's got a nice ambient vibe, i like that. get it EQed, maybe make the kick a bit more.. prominent?
@cyrokinesis - Dirty as fuck! Really nice and heavy.
@ambinate - other than the semi-white noise sound in the background, the beat and synthwork sounds really good. It's a really chill track. I'd like to hear it all finished!
I have no idea where to go with this, and I don't want to scrap it.. I need some serious inspiration. Soundcloud

JLproductions, Gotta say I like the idea. I feel the snare doesnt really have enough punch/presence. I feel it could use some additional background elements later in the song. and the song in your sig is friggin awesome! Any chances of a 320 in the future?

@Thrilla - This writers block track reminds me of Mount Kimbie for some reason, I like where you're headed, perhaps you need some disjointed melody or similar?
And finally, after beating my ears up all day with piercing mid-range, I think I am getting closer - comments very very welcome. Note this wasn't really mixed down properly, I am stuck working on headphones at moment cos the wife and kiddo are asleep :

@weedcali I love the growly bassline and the alternated percussion, I'd make just a little more of the synth lead line you are hiding in the background there, I think it'd bring an interesting anchor to the track

Hey man, cheers for the feedback i will start to work on the snare and can i ask what you mean by background elements? Also 'Through The Portal' is forthcoming on the Phantom Hertz label in a digital LP released around September time so keep the ears peeled!

@ DOWNFALL cheers for the comments bro, your track has some nice deep vibes going on, i love the work you have done on the snares, wicked reverb, i would try change thing up a lil bit, like the piano as well, good tune
@BUDSPEN yea the levels are a bit to high on most things, heaps of clipping going on. i like the off beat snare and the overal sound you are going for, just need to work on that mix down as you know.
@CYRO i'm digging your tune bro, cool sample althou you need to bring in up in the mix, bass sound are cool man, got the yoy's going on in there!! drums sound good, but the mix down could be a bit better, keep at it bro big tune.
@OPRS you should finish this track bro, i like the vocals, they are creepy as fuck, try get some more low end snare in there, the tappy snare you have on the left hand channel sounds a bit weird, i think you could work on the drums a whole lot, but on the hole nice tune bro.
Here is a Remix of insomnia by faithless, well i used the vocals but thats about it. its still has a wee way to go until its finished...... Soundcloud

@darkdubs 1.22 is good, with wobbles, but part of song before wubs is not good enough. maybe some chatchy melody can fix it.
@deafblindmusic very interesting song, after mixing properly it will own.
@thrilla good intro, but needs huge drop, with heavy wobbles. but I like it
Here is mine, just tryed to do speaky wobbles, and basses.

@sunshaft : Liking the bass and melodic elements, got a really nice balance there.
@bRRRZ : Talky wobbler! The intro dnb bit has an almost jump up slide sound in it, I think you could find something better honestly. Snares on the breakdown sounded a little muted, but then again my ears are shot at the moment
