''you gonna play that pyow pyow pyow pyow pyow wub wub wub wub wub wub wub wub wub tune again will?''

all my friends know earth a run red, even if most of them hate it.

then usually the conversation goes on to imitating the bassline with lots of 'oh' noises, and anger directed at me when i rewind it for the second time.

''that dubstep mix you did, its good, but its not very lively is it? i mean, i couldn't see it working on the dancefloor like, its a bit downbeat. you gonna play some drum and bass?''

and the classics ''what?'', ''dub what?'', ''what's dubstep?'', ''isnt that just slow drum and bass?''

and my favourite ''not this fucking tune again''

If you really want to hear some good ones, just log on to DOA, search "dubstep" and sit back and have a laugh.

Honestly, after 2 years of playing around my town I still haven't had any bad reactions or silliness. And I play at a dnb night. It helps that most of the people around here aren't hardcore dnb up their ass type of people and they don't seem to mind hearing some bass driven beats at a different tempo. I guess we have trained them that way. There has never been a strict dnb only rule at our weekly. It's nice though, people ask me for cd's every time I am out. I am too lazy to make any though. Doesn't everyone have the internet these days?

the first time i tried to take some mates to a dubstep night back in the day:

"it sounds like i'm on a building site"

"oooo the bass is making my willy tingle"

"you are the only bird i have ever met who would actually ENJOY this music" (this wasnt meant as a compliment...i took it as one lol)

a couple more:

whilst playing out:
"Have you got something we can dance to like House of Pain or Massive Attack?" :?

Big DnB head commenting on a dubstep track:
"Can see myself going at 1/4 brock speed to this in the club"

This one from a friend upon first going to FWD, not knowing anything about it:
"Basically, we are going to a place where white people pretend to be black people..."

he was implying for me to go "wibble wobble wib wob" This brere wont ever give me a chance to explain that dubstep isnt all wobbles, anytime I start talking he just goes "wubwubwubwubwub" absolute dickhead, his friend who used to do the same, gave dubstep a chance and now quite likes it, but the other guy thinks he's so joke and keeps on about it. It's been nearly two years now

Just read through 14 pages of this and loved it hahaha.

I've managed to get a good reaction out of alotta people. I kinda don't even bother trying to explain it to the obvious narrow minded pricks.

I always remember one guy asked me "is this that Brown Sound, that makes you shit yourself?!"
