Disaster drills on Haiti running day before earthquake

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thr ... quote]From CNN, the US military had personnel in place already in haiti :

"Last Tuesday, from his room at the Hotel Montana near Port-au-Prince, Haiti, U.S. Air Force Maj. Ken Bourland sent an e-mail to his wife telling her that he was fine and had just settled in for what was going to be an exciting time taking a disaster preparedness course."

The quake hit a few minutes later. [/quote]

haha yeah
its funny how most of the peeps postin in this thread saying its impossible to create man made earthquakes, have nothing to say when a possible explanation comes out

magma what are your thoughts on the link i just posted?

I don't think it adds a great deal to the conversation. No proper named sources yet and a lot of hypothetical motivations and methods... I'm not sure I ever said this was "impossible"... I just think it's massively unlikely. That link doesn't make me think it's any more likely that the US government had intentionally caused an earthquake in Haiti.

I lean to liking Chavez a lot of the time, but allusions to him in here are pretty useless. He will almost without fail back anything that makes the US look bad; it spoils his reputation massively. I'd be more interested if Putin really did get involved.... namechecking him in that article seems to have been done for effect.

When looking at the probabilities of causes of Earthquakes along an extremely active fault line, it's more likely by far that causes were natural.

I don't see it being very healthy to look at natural disasters and automatically look to twist them to fit your own agendas... lots of conspiracy thoerists have really looked upon this quake as an opportunity rather than a tragedy. Sad stuff.

can you blame him after all the failed cia backed coups in Venezuela?

i actually think its more interesting that this came from (allegedly) russian northern fleets, i.e. its possible that they picked up some abnormalities and their report was leaked before reaching kremlin where putin could have twisted it to suit him

yep, or it makes them easier to initiate as the area is so unstable anyway

Fair enough. The article didn't strike me as too conclusive. Important words for me were "An unconfirmed report by the Russian Northern Fleets" - no names attached and a rather general description - who are the "Northern Fleets" and how do they make a statement as one? Why is it still "uncomfirmed"? Could someone have just made it up? Why do we have the "gist" of this report but no exact wording?

The rest of the information has a mention of Hugo Chavez, but again, no quote and a bunch of quotes talking about possible American and Russian 'earthquake weapons' dating from 8 years ago and over. Latest quote on Russian weapons is from 2002 and latest direct quote about American weapons is from 1997.

To a sceptical mind it seems like someone has collated everything they could find on this subject and put it into a very ambiguous article designed to fire people up.

Of course, if those sources get filled in and this gets fleshed out with real information then I'd be all ears...

I was about to come back to this thread and post something by Naomi Klein, but I've been beaten to it.

Her analysis, once again, is far more accurate than Alex Jones style backward finger pointing.

Disaster Capitalism! Get to know.

I actually think Prison Planet and ilk is disinformation for people who like asking questions. It's the Status Quo. It's Goldstein's book...
