heh thx but all i did was gate em, squash em, low cut (too much imo) added some 4k, and soft limit. Then there's a send bus with guitar rig on it for the cabinet, followed by a subtle delay, and most of the vox are sent over to that parallel.
I thought i was way too heavy handed with the EQ (it hurts my ears) and overall mix was rough... but I'm glad y'all like it

s'okay, i have some free time at the moment (amazing) , so it goes something like this i think
noise gate: mutes the signal when it is below a certain threshold. basically the same thing as the expander that Deadly demonstrated, except fully gated means the expansion ratio is -infinity, meaning instead of lowering the quiet bits, it will mute them completely.

"squash": compress it. I really can't remember which compressor i used or the settings but it was between 4:1 and 8:1
Low cut: i high passed the vox at 80Hz, and scooped out some 200Hz, boosted the 4k area. again, i think i did this way too much. =/
Soft limit: Just to keep things level, i put a limiter on the end to catch the odd peak and hard consonants (b's and p's where i blasted too much air into the mic)
Then the guitar rig thing. yeah, i just put a send with a GR cabinet on it, followed by a delay about 40% wet. Sent the vox through that on a send, while letting the dry signal mix with the one through the cab.

tbh i don't fancy myself in the place to give advice about this stuff... these vox' delivery was peaky and airy at places, and I didn't do any de-Essing, followed by a 8kHz boost on the master (i thought the whole thing sounded too dark. Would've been better at around 11k methinks) = WAYYY too much "s" sound. it pains me to listen to it.

Also, keep in mind i have a GREAT mic, a decent preamp and some awesome plugins (UAD and Waves). so if my shit sounds good, it likely is a result of the colour that some of my gear had to offer. So if you do all that and it sounds different, its probz cuz of my UAD stuff (the Neve EQ FTW) and my microphone.

Thanks again for rating my tune! this was fun, had a good listen to the other stuff. I really dig #3 . 4 was odd to me, i wasnt too keen on the vocal FX on the hook. the beat and verses were cool (fucking deep voice, that!).

Thanks lol I think I got the voice part of the vocal thing down but when it comes to mixing them in, I've never done a good job. Thanks for this bro it's gona help loads!

no prob man, i think if you compress, then roll off some of the lows on your voice and boost it around 3-4kHz, your vocal will cut thru the beat more. lets hear some more rap then!

itsa FX plugin by Native Instruments, made to model guitar amplifiers. comes with awesome cabinet models, which is what i love most about it but theres also amps, distortion, effects n shit. should work for FL, i think, if your lookin for one. There's a couple similar plugs out there like Amplitube, but i ain't tried them.

props 2day ur shit was dope. urs was too jr...both were actual quality...and im sure with more time spent on them theyd be serious quality.

the other ones, the beats are dope, but the rapping isn't the best. no offense...i could not do any better..thats for sure
