The only reason such men would exist is if society were broken. This isn't a situation you should accept and laugh at. It should be a cause for fucking concern.

I don't believe it's true, either. Men are perfectly capable of respecting women's personal rights. It's the culture of "she was asking for it" and "what, wearing THAT and she said no... yeah, right!" that allows so many men to think they'll get away with it when they claim she only said no "afterwards".

Edit: Incidentally, both girls I know that were raped didn't ever go to the police about it. They were too ashamed and unwilling to talk about it. They were both called sluts by girls at school and figured their parents and the police would think the same. That's why this has struck a nerve... I'm not just being a dick for the sake of it. This shit affects real people's lives every day... it's shocking how many girls go through rape when you start digging... it's even more shocking how many of them probably never tell anyone.

Do you realise that an awful lot of "rapists" can't even sustain an erection for the course of the attack? It's not just about sex. It's largely about weak men grabbing something weaker that they can dominate and force to do their bidding. But it can easily be distorted by those that don't understand it to seem that it is just about sex, and so falsehoods like "She was dressed sexy" start to ring true to people... the opinion gets accepted by society and suddenly men can play the "she led me on" card. It's failed thinking.

That's really not the case. I appreciate attractive women walking around, but equally, I try to look good myself... I see that as a fairly natural human tendency. We're social creatures, we like to project a positive image to others. I appreciate that not all humans care as much, but I don't see anything wrong with wanting to look attractive to the opposite sex. I don't stop trying to look good if I've got a girlfriend and I'm not available... it's not about sex, it's about pride in oneself. All humans should be free to wear whatever the fuck makes them feel the best and not have to be worried about being persecuted for it. That goes for the Goth getting beaten up in the park as much as it does for the girl getting raped in the alley.

A cuttlefish doesn't have the intellectual capacity to think about personal liberty, I don't think reaching for the savagery of Mother Nature is terribly appropriate in that case. Many tribeswomen walk around with breasts unashamedly bared yet don't get attacked on sight... it's not in human nature to rape for sexual desire alone. You do both genders of our species a disservice by simplifying them so much.
