I think Incredible by General Levy was probably the first big top 40 jungle tune, might be wrong. Yeah loads of old hardcore was in the charts, not necessarily the real underground stuff but Prodigy, SL2, Altern8 end of things. Probably wouldn't have got into it if I hadn't heard it there, was one of the things that started moving me away from rock music at the time and I wasn't really out clubbing.
Hmm....

How about u all get over urselves... dont u think ur gettin a bit bogged down with 'nu rave' n 'nu rave music' to NOTICE and appreciate that we are wittnessing a really exciting change in music at the moment..any1 can have access to any software for free n create wot the fuck they want.. for themselves.. for their friends..for the masses to enjoy..HOWEVER the FUCK u wanna label it...

i know bare ppl who argue that this 'nu rave' thing is killing music.. but the only thing that is killing music is the closed minded reactionary few who are trynna stop music from developing and getting a bigger following, because the MORE PEOPLE INVOLVED means that the self created little hierarchies of power created within scenes such as dubstep (it is a fuckin scene) start to dissapear. Seems to me like some ppl on this message board are too concerned about how they want others to perceive them than letting people do/create/and BE WHAT/WHO THE FUCK they want to be.

so fuckin cheer up lads

I'm sorry but the record label are being ridiculous not putting this out - if they did some kind of vinyl release I'm sure it would sell bucketloads.

ok

for some reason whenever people say they dont like nu rave the people that leap to its defense assume its because the people that dont like it find its too different for them to take...i find this hilarious personally as the thing i dont like mainly about it is its incredibly boring and not in the slightest bit original...just rebranded for the indie kids so they can think theyre part of something new without actually having to look into the many more interesting scenes of music that seem to go unnoticed relative to nu rave at least

what makes it more annoying is when people assume that you not liking it is indicative of it being too much of a change for you to take...thats what youve just done....so maybe if you stopped posting that on forums people may give it a chance....the klaxons in my opinion are terrible...but im loving the new venetian snares album, skeptas greatest hits, iron & wine, CJ Bolland, spor, plastician, ralph vaughan williams, philip glass, squarepugorecki, linda perhacs, hellfish & producer, si begg, various production, lone wolf, meshuggah, the bug, radioactive man, boards of canada, cursor miner, milanese, kritical audio, akufen, the others, dj c, dj floorclearer, low, mz bratt etc etc etc (look on my myspace for a complete list of my taste...dont know how i manage without the klaxons in my life though:P)

and im perfectly cheery all the time i cant hear the klaxons in my ears pretty much...although the skream remix has certainly made it way less shit imo

im not saying btw that they cant be whoever they want..its just the ridiculous hype that puts people off....and youre of course forcing your opinion on others that they need to like and accept them....why cant we all just do what we want?

please dont be offended

buddy, telling me to stop posting is not the answer. Ur a personified contradiction. I just said that yall are getting distracted with things that dont matter. But if u wanna spend ur life talking about things u don't like and spitting venom when some1 trys to put a positive spin on tings then thats ur preogative man.

I'll ignore the fact u misread my post completely and missed the point.

Good remix. Loving the high bass notes where it feels like you're getting a heart mumour.

Is it really worth all this fuss though?

i was responding to your post....i read your post and understood the profound point you were trying to make

im a very positive person when it comes to music and try to see the good in everything...this isnt about music though...its about marketing...theres nothing of substance here for me

i think it depends where youre coming from when it comes to 'spitting venom'...if it comes from a place of ignorance where you fear something unfamiliar then i find it ugly...if it comes from a place of knowing whats up then i think its different:P you talk to most people praising the klaxons or hadouken or css etc etc then they generally dont know much about dance music....a mate of mine that loves the klaxons said to me 'you like stuff on planet mu?, dont they mainly put out the same sort of thing though?..it all sounds the same'

i cant get enough of new and innovative music....i have huge respect for the people putting out awesome tracks...this is partially what fuels my rare times i bother to reply to threads like these.....a lot of people are ignored when theyre amazing..unjustly & equally a lot of people get a lot of attention when there is nothing to them beyond their marketing and how people 'think' they will be perceived if they like them

write what you want....i was merely suggesting that those kind of posts are what fuels people...you obviously didnt read my post

one love

Without having to sift through 14 pages of what seems to be alot of b0ll0x to be honest, about Skream coz hes remixed Klaxons, he's some how suddenly gone commercial...and OOOOH NOOOOO WE'D ALL DIE IF WE HEARD A DUBSTEP TUNE IN THE CHARTS!!!

I wanna know, if Skreams version is a bootleg, is it coming out? if so anyone know a release date? Is it just a naughty lil dubby bootleg or CD-R??

Personally, I think he did the remix justice, I heard it get played at Fabric last saturday and the tune woke me the fcuk up, to what was otherwise a damn standard set played by whoever it was, and kept me in the dubstep room for a while longer, before Shy FX tore down the main room as per usual...

INFO PEOPLE GIMME INFO!!!

blap
