Even though it sounds trancey or whatever at times, it's associated with the industrial scene. Rave music for industrial goth types
Only listen to some Psyclon Nine, maybe Terrorfakt nowadays. The rest are a bit too ravey for my tastes.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
This one is actually sick! On the other ones, it was the corny synths that put me off personally - however, if the Bind Torture Kill one didn't have vocals, i would fully rate it.ultraspatial wrote:
Does sound like gimp suit music though. You know when you watch CSI and the like, and they go to a fetish bar, this is the stuff that is always playing in the background! Cool to hear new things, though, as always.
Re: breakcore/noise/other
OP, Noise and breakcore aren't the same thing by any means
Listen to Merzbow. That's real noise.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
The original breakcore scene/sound was influenced by noise doe

It originally like.. a derivative of early rave/jungle (possibly pre-jungle even) and soundsystem/bassweight with experimental and noise music and it was ALL about analog distortion. No analog = no breakcore.
That changed toward the end of the '90s doe. Probably cuz everything started sounding like Bloody Fist. Hell, early breakcore was anti-four-to-the-floor too. Now that's everywhere.

Re: breakcore/noise/other
I think everybody knows that. But there's a lot of stuff that can be considered noise, like 1000+ bpm speedcore for instance.zerbaman wrote:OP, Noise and breakcore aren't the same thing by any means

Re: breakcore/noise/other
Plus people have posted noise and breakcore and undefinables in this thread. Original intention was for people to post tunes that weren't dubstep/house/techno/rock/dub/reggae/hip-hop or what other threads were about. Or at least more extreme version of those genres. Think we did a good job.zerbaman wrote:OP, Noise and breakcore aren't the same thing by any means

And why is it always merzbow? Is he like the skrillex of noise or some shit?
Re: breakcore/noise/other
Word, at least pick someone with a more amusing name to represent noise

Always preferred Masonna out of the "big" names. Hanatarash are pretty sick too.
Also Bastard Noise, The Grey Wolves, Gerogerigegege, Institut and stuff like In Slaughter Natives, Brighter Death Now, Folkstorm

Re: breakcore/noise/other
Haha, why may i ask? Did you book him for something and not see eye-to-eye?
Re: breakcore/noise/other
Naww like, he used to be in this punk band called Man Is The Bastard and I'm really into that side of punk.. thrash/grind/powerviolence/Japanese hardcore etc. Anyway, apparantly some shitty indie band (I think it was akron/family?) took the skull of the MITB logo and put it on one of their shirts as a tribute to MITB and Wood went APESHIT on them and instructed his fans to spam the shit out of their facebook page. I read all of this on some facebook page of a punk label I like and commented on how fucking stupid that is considering every single punk band from these past 10 years rips-off logos, album covers, bandnames, etc. as a tribute to bands they love (a band of a friend of mine, XBRAINIAX, ironically did the same to album cover of another band Wood was friends with, evne titling the record 'Discgrace To the Corpse of Eric Wood', and Eric Wood was gonna collab with them on a record that never got released) and no one ever made an issue of it. Then suddenly some mainstream indie band does it and it's 'plagiarism' or some shit. And you'd think that supposed anti-capitalists wouldn't believe in intellectual property.
Anyway. He would have none of that and he'd be mad weird about it. He'd "like" all my posts saying how stupid he was being and then he added me to Facebook with a message calling me an asshole.
Like. I was a huge fan of his since I was 16. I had no idea at the time that we'd meet up like DAT.
