Why waste their time and effort whining about it on Facebook or twitter, or having some massive melodramatic leaving thread like plasticman?

I think it's because they liked it back when the forum was dominated by good upbeat community vibes, I know some even found it inspiring that early tunes of theirs got positive feedback and pushed them to send to or start up labels.

or you could make a tune called forum fannies

We already had 'the moaners' from Caspa (or Rusko, can't remember). So I guess we're not that far :(

Yeah this is true, but I think that this forum can be the exception to the trend. There are capable people at the helm and change on the horizon, I think it'll be a very interesting couple of years for the forum.

i must of missed that one.

anyway, i, personally, find that as you befriend more and more members, albeit an internet relation or a RL relation, then you get more comfortable in dicking around. it's like a great big pub with all your mates.

which is why i go off and act like a prat now and again, if you knew me in real life you would know that this mimics my personality.

The pub analogy gets bandied around a lot and it just doesn't apply. If you were in a pub and start mouthing off at someone known in the pub chances are you'd be told to shut up or fuck off. Continually acting like a twat would mean you wouldn't be let back in or more than likely end up with bits of glass stuck in your face. Personally I'm a fairly loud character, especially with a few drinks in me, but I always make sure I'm not fucking up anyone else enjoyment or fun, out of simple respect and the desire to get the same treatment.

Sorry, I ain't aiming this at you, just drawing on the pub analogy, I'd much prefer it if people did treat this place more like a pub. In fact I like the idea of having more regional focused threads/boards to encourage people linking up in their areas, going for drinks and out raves. You know, like a community would do...

Was it double zero? I thought it was distorted minds? maybe Twisted?

I can remember a sleeve with screenshots of DOA being twats on it that was pretty funny.

i never really graced DoA but this one came from yellow pages.

didn't mistabishi do a tune after being caught faking his set?

True say. Too many nice folk and it all becomes a bit of an Amish-esque circlejerk.

Yang won, though. But that is what it does, it is the winner.

yellow pages was prime for it back in the mid 00's with OEM, razor, j majik and co.
DnBA certainly didn't disappear up it's own arsehole like DOA, but there were bare heads posting on the forum (especially the production bit), Fresh, DBridge, John B, Noisia, Dylan, Dom and Roland etc etc as well as Ben Kei and Cromz looking after the production forum, it was a production nerds dream.
Yeah met a lot of great folks through doa as well. The Grid vs DNBA tune battles were always fun too.
dBridge and Dom still chime in from time to time, but sadly Roland got too much verbal abuse. John B has posted some stuff recently. Chris Blumarten was posting a lot until a few months back, now rarely. Mistabishi gets snarky under an alias still. Think there's a couple of others... also Ben is looking for a new mod or two to help liven the place back up. I thought about offering to help since I've been on there for many years and know the place well but I'm not so involved with dnb any more. Think it was trying to expand into all areas of electronic after the redesign.

That was a good couple of years ago now... maybe even 3. Can't remember which thread it was in now.

Naturally this was argued as bollocks by said DJ. I'm guessing I was viewed as a fucked up crowd member that was tripping or off my tits or something.

For obvious reasons (I was working for the venue at the time) I neglected to mention in the thread that I was the manager at the club on the night and had to write a full event report detailing exactly what happened.
