who claimed Hamas rocket attacks were sporadic???

everything i've read has given those statistics you mention, albeit a lot of what i've read has come from the BBC so i'd say they would be on the side of inflated stats as opposed to deflated ones

oh ive got gangs of people who seem to think hamas fires one rocket, israel bombs a palestinian target... when at this point i think the tally is somewhat like 460 attacks by hamas 6 by Israel.

the ones not taken out by the Iron Dome are the rockets whose trajectory is estimated to be out of designated protected area's, i.e. unpopulated land basically

so anything Iron Dome takes out would have landed in populated area's

thats misleading

Israel's weapons are highly sophisticated and extremely powerful

they level area's in one attack

look at the death toll, speaks for itself

you have no point here

not a whole lot of fields in the part of Israel gaza is bordering. They're firing rockets at pretty densely populated areas. They've killed 5 or 6 folks at last tally and injured dozens.

The point was it wasn't a tit for tat response. The responses have been usually after ones make it through and actually kill people. The deathtoll for this conflict is like 14-6 we gonna score this like a fucking football game? Cause someones always loses at sport, but we're arguing the ideals which is more relevant not scoring sides with human casualties

Iron Dome (my new production name, btw) doesn't have 100% kill rate, even for rockets approaching populated areas, and still the damage is miniscule compared to Israel's retaliation.

not sure if you've ever been around rocket fire or RPG's. They don't have to hit you in the forehead to mame or kill. Shrapnel makes a rocket fracture into hundreds of bullet like projectiles. They aren't firing nerf footballs over the border or tennisball guns.

ermmmm... you brought up comparing numerical statistics to do with attacks, and used number of israeli's injured and killed in support of your point. then when i counter your point you claim they're then irrelevant, and actually try to make me look like puerile and immature by reducing my point to a metaphorical football score??

bizarre

my statistic was related to number of attacks, yours was about effectiveness of attacks. Should Israel not return attacks because the palestinians are only killing people every 50th attack? Or should they not return fire because they have bigger guns? Would it make a difference if instead of aircraft bombings Israel simply fired 460 RPG's back accross the border? Or are they going to be assholes because their weapons have guidance and their soldiers are trained to aim the weapons?

It's the futility of comparing things because you can skew it whichever way you want (my point likely poorly made)

i wasn't trying to make out that Israel was at fault for retaliating to rocket fire so whatever your point is in the highlighted section is moot anyway

my point was that Israel's attacks are far more powerful and deadly, and their defences are better... that its misleading to quote things like 'hamas has launched 460 separate attacks against israel's 6' because it smacks of bias.

it makes it seem like israel has fired 6 rockets to hamas' 460 whereas the reality is very different.

that was my point, like you say, statistics can be massively misleading, which is why i brought up the issue regarding the ferocity of Israel's strikes into Gaza, the accuracy of them and the higher victim tally. Its silly to think it'd be tit for tat... if it was there wouldn't be any of Gaza left :corntard:

Hamas' rockets are essentially large fireworks so not really the same thing.

I don't claim to know anything about the situation over there, but based on that image alone I would have to say it's pretty much over for Palestine.
BTW WTF is going on there?

Don't make things up scope. People believe stupid shit like that when they see that shot on the net. They're firing legit surface artillery.... large enough to appear on localized radar for iron dome. They're the same style rockets that have killed thousands in Iraq and Afghanistan

What? Is that metaphorical? Like two touchdowns to two field goals?

The death toll is 100-3. Of that 100, 24 children and 10 women have been killed. In terms of the wounded, it is 860-60. That includes 260 children and 140 women injured in Gaza.

pkay wrote:we gonna score this like a fucking football game?
Yes? American football at least. Generally speaking the point of war is to diminish your opponent's desire and or ability to resist. Death toll and wounded affects both the desire and ability to resist. Thus, you see Israeli officials (defensive coordinators) stating that they need to pound Gaza back into the middle ages.
