Not hating on any genres, but on a personal note, DnB got boring for me by 2000 (jungle still kills it), so for a few years I branched out into different kinds of beats. Then came dubstep. It's the first kind of music to come along this decade that stands out enough to get me excited like back in the day. When word got out that the earth was round, there were haters too. It's all about progress... dubstep is the new heavyweight champion of BASS. Seen!

I've not jumped ship completely. I've been buying loads of dubstep recently and I've got more of an interest in the dubstep scene at the moment, but I'm still intend to do my radio show every week, playing and buying older beats. Dnb releases in the last year or two have been appalling on the whole. Nothing is exciting me in the contemporary sense. I'd be hard pressed to play a set I liked out of the tunes that have been released this year so far. All the decent producers who can properly engineer sound i.e Calibre, D-Bridge, Breakage, High Contrast etc etc are writing Liquid dnb, which is about as exciting as tea round your grandmas. Now, there's only a few dubstep tunes released every week, but the quality is outstanding. Every tune has depth and shelflife, unlike the disposable tunes that the dnb scene is offering week in week out. I'm tired of wasting my money on beats that are past their sell by date after 2 weeks.
Nothing wrong with liquid if you ask me. May not be the most out there thing but its better than listening to some of the noisier jump uppy stuff. Breakage is not really liquid - more like nu skool old skool (or mid skool!!). Lot of the credible underground stuff find a tad boring not really doing anything new. Love me Jungle/drumnbass still - cant understand all the angst in their pants massive and the haters.

DnB has some fuckin heavy tunes but it gets a bit samey to me. first record i baught was that super sharp shooter shooter sharp ting with the cut up method man sample. i liked a lot of the bangin stuff but then it got watered down and it got much harder to find new DnB records that kept the original bounce and feel of the music altho i spent a lot of money on the ed rush and optical stuff which was spot on one day i just stopped noddin my head to it. still love the classics tho but dupstep is like the music i was born to play hear and mc to.
