didnt really want to leave when it was all over, seriously wicked night, oneman and benny ill b2b :o , the grime being dropped by plastician down there was top notch aswell. there wasnt a point all night when i wasnt shocking out hard when on the floor! first time ive heard stuff like anti war dub being played and that was a deep moment for me, hair on neck still standin when i think about that one. bigup mala/dmz/dubstep for such a quality evening, well done.

Arrrgghhh, damn myself for not noticing that 3rd Bass was open. Had a great time and all in the main room but I could have done with a change up during night. And I missed plastician playing grime. D'oh!

Big night anyway.

And oh my god I swear I could have knifed the cashier at McDonalds! So fukn slow! It took him almost 20mins to fill two orders.

The only way I get people missing 3rd base is if they don't smoke.

Who said smoking isn't good for you?

One of the most damaging mixes ive ever heard!! Fully prepared for the "shit the bed" drop anyway, but faaaarkin hell. Quest/LD was set of the night for me, everything hit the spot...

Benny ill down in 3rd base was sick!! Didnt really know what was happening, i just popped in...but boy it took me a while to leave!!

In general though it wasnt the best dmz going for me. Spose it was inevitable what with diaries of an afro warrior fresh out, but Bengas house/techy sound seemed to permeate just about every set. Not necessarily just his tunes being played, but it felt like 90% of the new stuff i heard from others had alot owed to benga! Really not my style (i cant stand diaries of an afro warrior bar one tune :o ) but it seemed to go off everytime it happened! Felt almost out of place...
Was a little disappointed with dmz/loefah, but again i think it was my fault. Their set felt like an homage to coki to me, all the twisted sounds and snarling basslines that unfortunately wasnt what i was there for :( Not complaining at all, of course theyve got to mix it up...but if it was down to me it would have been a mala back-catalogue set with boiler suit and loefahs 50,000 watts remix hanging around for the odd reload. Everytime :P (Although, that last coki tune was of course mental)

Out to everyone i spoke to, standard! Met nuff of ya this time! Not gonna write a list, just suffice to say nice to meet y'all!

As I said earlier, I think there's a really big house/techno influence coming through at the moment - there's the dub/minimal techno bristol-centric sound, that martyn/quest style where its all lush chords- us/uk garage style, as WiggleBaron says the really intense stuff which is driving where the bass is constantly buzzing beneath some mad sound- kind of like hardcore techno really.

Special special night. I mentally couldn't leave the main room due to tune after tune. Got in at around half ten and realised come skreams set that the furthest I ventured was to the bar then back to the stage. Didn't realise 3rd base was open so bit annoyed at hearing I missed out on some serious business in there.

Everyones set melted me away so a big shout to all the dj's and If I had to hand out a first prize I think goth trad n distance just about nicked it.

Big up everyone in attendance and those who were vibesing out completley when matty g's 'no other than' dropped.

<3 DMZ
